It took about 30 seconds

Definitely didn't take only 30 seconds. Before the video started they backed in, got all their tools out, and already had all the lug nuts off. Either way, I'm not worried about it. Rims aren't worth my life if they shoot back. That's what insurance is for.

Exactly right. Using deadly force to protect property (where your life is not in immediate danger) would land you in prison not to mention the lawsuits filed by their family members (the families AWLAYS sue) that would follow costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. Using a firearm in this instance would be a very, very bad decision.

Call the police and have insurance.

Have a garage and use it to park your ride.

Way simpler, better and less costly than dealing with the aftermath of thievery.....or confronting thieves at 2:45am.

It's nice to have hounds whose ears are always on the alert, nobody gets onto our property without them knowing. It's also nice to have neighbors with police cars in their driveways. Deterrance...

The alarm is going off for the first half of the time. At my house, those bastards would at least have some 00 buckshot in their doors and probably their tires so I wouldn't have to carry my wheels back very far.

Do that in good ol' Chicago and you'll be in jail longer than the tire thieves.
Actually at that point they wouldn't even look for the tire thieves, you're easier to work with and have money...

That was my next question... Is it legal to shoot outside the house? Only if they fired first I imagine.

I'm in TX, we tend to lean towards the wild wild west rules. Somebody gets shot for stealing something on your property the cops just ask where are the bodies..

I called 911 after a house breakin and the cops showed up. First words out their mouth.."did you get em?"

We still have thieves, just not many repeat offenders..

Wouldn't a $60 set of Gorilla Locking Lugs be a lot more of a deterrent than someone with a gun in underwear or a cop car in someone else's driveway?
