2002 Envoy XL Compressor Clutch Replace?

Hey Guys,
Anyone ever replace the compressor clutch on an Envoy or TB? Ours gave up cooling when it's hot. The compressor wont engage but if I hose it down with cold water it will engage again and cool.

There is a shim on the compressor that you can remove, and get more use out of it. I have not done this, v but have read about it over on GMTNation.com

I read about that too. I have a new bely on the way anyhow so I may see if I cant get the clutch off that thing. Gotta take the fan and shroud out to get the room to work.

Took the shim out today. It’s tight down there. Throwing a belt on and taking it for a test beat.

Closing this up. Removing the shim resulted in consistent AC again. Good enough for now.
