    OEM fog light kit installation

I installed the OEM kit in my '09 Yukon. The lights themselves were a piece of cake. The switch module was actually easier than the instructions suggested - there are a couple of different trim arrangements - mine just popped out but yours may need some disassembly of the dash. The wiring...

    has anyone

If you want a 1" drop (at either end), know that the XFE version has just that. As far as I can tell, the only difference is the springs, so replacing those would give you a genuine OE setup.

    Steering Wheel Controls

I don't know this to be a fact, so treat it accordingly - however, from what I know about how our rides are wired, I would bet that the controls wouldn't do anything unless the body computer was re-programmed. Depending on how cooperative your dealer is (I think that is a contradiction in...

Help adding heated seats to the second row

I've never heard of GM offering heated rear seats (doesn't mean they don't) but I'm pretty sure ChevyFreak is right that you can't buy a kit. It shouldn't be that hard to do with a universal aftermarket kit (view here: http://www.heatedseatkits.com/heatedseatkits/iheat2/index.html but available...

Has anyone installed their own heated seats?

Yes and yes. Actually you get a whole new set of door handles. I ordered "titanium" to match my interior - I think they had black and tan too, but I don't remember since I wasn't looking for those.

Installing heated seats right now - how to get lumbar knob off??

I'd recommend doing it yourself - I found it to be pretty uncomplicated and in contrast to the OP I thought the instructions were OK, at least for the SUVs (the pickups are more involved). A couple of things to be aware of: you are more or less on your own for running the wiring - the fittings...

Installing heated seats right now - how to get lumbar knob off??

Do you have the factory kit (with the instructions)? What vehicle are you installing them in?

    Mine's the 40/20/40.

    About to Order Pedders Kit

I have the full kit and would say that I am happy with it. The ride is a little more abrupt than stock but not harsh. The rear seems a little more so than the front, but I don't have shock extenders - not sure that what they would really do though. The handling is a major improvement - I can...

interior lights wont turn on when door is open

It took me a while to find this too - it actually seems like you have to push the bezel, not the switch. The markings are confusing (at least to my simple mind).

$650 for new fluids at 36k miles?

Total scam - at least you know they're a place to avoid. Remember that "service managers" are commisioned sales persons (who know nothing about cars) and treat their comments accordingly. The only honest recommendation you are going to get is in your owner's manual - trust it.

    Pics of G4 Tails Installed?

You can buy them like this instead of tinting them:

    Fedders?

I have the kit installed and am satisfied that it does what it is supposed to. The lower ride height is a given, but their claim is to improve handling too. I think they do this quite well but as some expense in ride harshness. I attribute that more to harder shock settings, but since I...

    Has anyone cut a coil?

I think cutting coils has gotten an undeserved bad rap. A couple of years ago when I was fooling wtih my Envoy I got hold of some TBSS springs (~3/4" lower) - the only difference between the two was that the SS spring was one coil shorter at the fat end - same wire diameter and everything else...

    Air Dam- needed?

Hard to know unless you were on the design team. Usually it's there for two reasons: fuel economy at highway speeds and cooling at idle and low speeds (prevents hot air recirculating under the bumper. If you don't think that those are going to be issues for you, go for it.

Has anyone installed their own heated seats?

It was the kit from GMPD. There are a couple of big advantages to that over the generic ones: the heating elements fit the seat cushions perfectly, you can use factory switches instead of having to drill holes somewhere for your own and you don't have to root around for a power source - just a...

Has anyone installed their own heated seats?

I just finished the install. Yes, the kit covers both seats. I'll see about scanning the instructions although they are only helpful to a point. Overall it worked pretty well, but the photos in the instructions are mostly unintelligible. That means that you are pretty much on your own to...

    Eibach Rear Swaybar

I put the Eibach rear bar on after a 2/3 drop (Pedders kit) and can recommend it. The real value in swaybar tuning is modifying the oversteer/understeer characteristics. Since the base vehicle understeers a bunch, increasing the rear bar stiffness makes it closer to neutral and if you like to...

Anyone remove Yukon 3rd brake light?

Thanks all; I was pretty sure that was the answer but why risk breaking something expensive when we have the forum?

Anyone remove Yukon 3rd brake light?

Went to swap my stock CHMSL for LED version today - turned out not to be as obvious as I thought. The light itself seems to be fastened to a plastic housing that sits on the rear glass that has to be removed to get at the studs. Flipping up the back glass, there are two studs that come down...

    Yet another drop question!

I couldn't get an answer on that either (at least not from anyone who actually knew). Consider this: at the back there is only one way to do it and that is with springs. At the front there are three ways: spindles, spring perches or springs. Given that when I changed out the springs I got one...

    Nasty Bird

I have a mockingbird that does that here in SoCal; actually he does it to all of the neighbors' cars. He particularly likes side-view mirrors, but luggage racks, Onstar antennae etc. are all OK with him. No solution yet, but I've been thinking about that sticky slime that is supposed to keep...

    Yet another drop question!

I had the same issue. If you go with a spring-only drop kit, you will wind up with a 2/3 drop from the original height, or a 1/2 relative to where you are now. If you use spindles up front you will wind up with a 2/2 relative to where you are now. For that reason I went with springs all round...

    Front Lip?

Well said; I used to work in engine cooling years ago and I can tell you that it is a pretty critical piece of the package. The effect at speed is more or less obvious, but it can have a major effect at idle too. I remember working on the first gen. Ford Ranger and it had pretty poor cooling...

    Intermittent Slight Misfire

If it really is a misfire there will be a diagnostic code on it. Scanners are cheap enough that you probably know someone who has one or can can talk someone into doing it for free. If it is throwing a code it would be covered by the emissions warranty (that's why the feds mandated that it be...
