It appears the TCM has gone bad. Hopefully none of internals of the trans are damaged. I've never had to deal with trans issues on any of my vehicles before so I'm stuck trusting the transmission shop on this one.

I think I have found my problem. I had the battery tested and it was showing good. The alternator was charging but not enough to keep up.I installed a new alternator and everything is working fine now. Thanks for the tips.
