Subwoofer options without losing cargo space. SWB

So it is for sure the 6.75in? How good is the overall sound from it now? And how difficult was it to get the center console out and to get to the sub woofer itself? Thinking about doing that myself but I couldn't find what size fit there, or any tutorials on how to even get the center console...

Subwoofer options without losing cargo space. SWB

I know this post is old, but I see you make mention of the sub woofer in the center console, what size is it if you know? Thanks

Finally getting somewhere on my speaker box build

Looking good! OP, is that a standard Yukon or the XL? Looking to do something similar myself and if that's the standard I may try something similar. I'm having a custom box made myself, though it isn't all that size, but it looks very clean and stock-looking, which is what I like.

    Subwoofer Questions

I would have never thought about contacting someone who makes cabinets, that's actually an awesome idea. And honestly, I would love to move the jack out because in the 15 years my Tahoe has been within my family, we've only had a handful of holes in our tires, and we simply took it down to our...

    Subwoofer Questions

For sure. Just gotta figure out which route I will take. Nearest scrap yard is 45 mins - 1 hour out from where I live, and I'm having little luck finding someone I know who makes custom boxes. But I think if I do an 8 inch there and figure out how to replace the center console sub and with what...

    Subwoofer Questions

Ahh ok. How does it sound? And me, I'd probably just cut the cover off and find another. I currently have a 12in Rockford Fosgate and the one in the center console, however that one doesn't work whenever I use the radio .

    Subwoofer Questions

Is that a stock box/one from a Yukon or Escalade, or is that a custom box? Looks very good the way you have it as it is. I'd like mine to be like yours. And unless there's more than just the jack back there idk of any other tools

    Subwoofer Questions

This is a 2004, I doubt any dealer would help me. Plus, I want to get better woofers than the default Bose ones (they aren't bad but there's a lot better out there). I know it's a challenge getting a box to fit in the rear cubby without removing the jack but that's a challenge I'm willing to...

    Subwoofer Questions

As much as I'd like to do that I don't want to cut my jack mount or move it. Thanks for the info though . Hoping to keep this as stock as possible (not talking about the woofer itself, just the build). I'm also interested in figuring out how to pull the center console subwoofer out and replacing...

    Subwoofer Questions

I assume fiberglass is expensive. If that's the case then I probably will just settle for an 8 inch and just optimize as much of the free space as possible. In your previous post you suggested me getting another amp, what are some good options? It all depends on what woofer I end up going with...

    Subwoofer Questions

Might be going with a custom enclosure after all, and it might just be a 10inch, if I can help it. What all would I need to do to the panel (the speaker grill area) to get a 10 inch to properly fit if I went that route? Would a dremel of some sort work, just cut/sand down about half an inch all...

    Subwoofer Questions

I've been researching 8inch woofers that are within my price range, however I have no clue if any of these will fit the stock box for the Tahoe or if they're worth considering to begin with. Any feedback on these is appreciated as I'm going to begin actively looking for an enclosure tomorrow and...

    Subwoofer Questions

My current setup (though I have my woofer over on the right with that seat up and the woofer facing left), the amp is just beyond the left seat on the floor.

    Subwoofer Questions

Did some reading on here and found out that while the Yukon XL / Suburban box is larger overall, the depth of the short wheelbase Tahoe/Yukon is larger (for the enclosure). I don't keep anything in the cubby where you're supposed to keep the cargo net (who uses those in their Tahoe?), so I may...

    Subwoofer Questions

Thanks for those pics, very handy. Helps me visualize it more. And darn, that's what I was fearing. I've been looking around and looked at the links you posted and like you said, most of the decent woofers that size are discontinued or extremely expensive. I have been looking at Kicker and...

    Subwoofer Questions

Thanks for the pics, I'm going to be calling around and seeing if a local scrapyard has an enclosure that will fit. I've been researching subwoofers to put in it, and while I would like to somehow make a 10inch woofer work, it seems most of the boxes are only made to hold 8 inch woofers. Any...

    Subwoofer Questions

Are the clips simply clips or are they bolted in? I've seen a few pictures where it's bolted into the pillar, if so what socket wrench will I need? Thanks for the advice!

    Subwoofer Questions

Ty for all the helpful information, I'll certainly check it out! And if someone could get with me on whether my LT has the console woofer or not would be great .I have a pic of my RPO codes and the one that points to me possibly having the woofer is UQ7. I can post a picture of my codes if needed .

    Subwoofer Questions

Hi everyone, I'm new here. So, I have a 2004 Tahoe LT with the Bose system (no subwoofer as far as I can tell) and the OnStar system (deactivated). I currently have wired up a 12in Rockford Fosgate R1S412 & Boss Riot r1100m amp system, but I'm wanting to change it up. I want to take advantage...
