Rear AC cold but front is not

Thanks for the reply doubelieve. Do you know of the location of any others? I should perhaps clarify as well that I was seeing movement by alternating between calls for max heat or max cold, across the locations. I just wanted to check it was moving at all to try and rule it out. After being...

Rear AC cold but front is not

I have already tried removing the mix door actuator from under the dash and it appears to work ok. If I remove it from the dash and leave it plugged in, and change the AC settings front, rear, driver, passenger, I can see it move through a range of about 45 degrees, total. I assume this is...

    DD head unit advise

Thanks everyone for the great responses. I’ve actually picked up a cheap FM transmitter that sounds surprisingly good. This’ll hold me over until I piece together some of your suggestions on eBay

    DD head unit advise

hi, I’m looking for advice on a dd head unit to replace the factory Bose unit in my 2005 Yukon. I’d like to be able to play music and make phone calls through my phone so Bluetooth is likely a must. I’d also like to keep my steering wheel controls. I’m on a tight budget so I’d like to spend...

    Pet/cargo barrier for XL/Suburban?

Hello, I am a handyman with a baby seat in the 2nd row and a bunch of tools and materials in the back (third seat removed). I need a barrier of some sort to protect my baby from objects thrown forward should I crash or stop abruptly. I've looked at pet barriers and there some...

    Engine rebuild (or alternatives)??

Thanks all. I’ve got a 5.3. Ordinarily I’d tackle this myself but I’ve got two jobs and a week old baby so there’s no time for messing about in the garage! I’ve pretty much got my mind made up on the full reman/rebuild. It comes with a warranty and will work out not too much more expensive...

    Engine rebuild (or alternatives)??

well, it seems that my low oil pressure problems will require a rebuild in the not too distant future. There is a bottom end knock I’m addition to all the lifter tapping. Here in Houston, the going rate for a full, turnkey rebuild seems to be about $3300. I know I can find low mileage...

New Guy With Oil Pressure From Bad To Worse!

Thanks again for the good advice gents. As my wife just had our baby last week, I've quit messing with it and taken it to a local mechanic - not my usual approach but I can't be out in the driveway at the moment! I've asked them to stick it on a mechanical gauge but I imagine it will only...

New Guy With Oil Pressure From Bad To Worse!

Well now it’s back... in fairness I hadn’t driven the car much since I thought I’d fix it but i took it for some stop and go driving on a fast food run tonight and oil pressure dropped low enough to trigger the ‘low oil pressure’ warning whilst sitting in the drive through and at red lights on...

    Cell calls without onstar subscription?

Too bad indeed! A shame to have the hardware without a use for it!

New Guy With Oil Pressure From Bad To Worse!

I’m getting to be a dab hand at removing the sensor. Removed, checked for screen, and replaced all in the space of halftime during saints/rams and with time enough for a beer after! No screen though, and I was hoping for one. It seems the cause of my low(ish) pressure is mechanical.

New Guy With Oil Pressure From Bad To Worse!

Thanks JCB2. I actually removed the new sender yesterday to check for this but there doesn't appear to be a screen in my 2005. I think I read somewhere that these were introduced in the 2007 model?

    Cell calls without onstar subscription?

hello, new to the forums and brand new to onstar. My 2005 Yukon comes equipped with it but I don’t plan to subscribe. Is it still possible to use the voice activation/microphone/etc to make phone calls? Is there any else the system can do for me without a subscription?

New Guy With Oil Pressure From Bad To Worse!

BINGO! Thanks for the replies everyone. I re-did it this morning; set the tube better, and filled the filter before installing. Instant oil pressure so I’m relieved. It’s about 20psi on startup now so hardly great but as the sender is at the top of the block I assume this is sufficient to...

New Guy With Oil Pressure From Bad To Worse!

Ok, I’ve drained the oil again to remove the pan. After draining the oil, I removed the filter, and it is dry as a bone. Should I have pre-filled it?

New Guy With Oil Pressure From Bad To Worse!

Thanks Snowdrifter for the comprehensive reply. I’m sure I’ve got the correct o-ring and I’m certain I removed all packaging from the new filter. I didn’t pre fill the filter though (I never have). I can’t rule out any of your other suggestions for the existing low pressure but I can’t...

New Guy With Oil Pressure From Bad To Worse!

Hello from Texas! I just picked up a really tidy 2005 Yukon XL with about 135k miles on a 5.3. The previous owner seems to have taken great care of it, with a log book full of regular oil changes. Paint and interior are immaculate for the age. When I got the car, oil pressure was showing...
