Anyone have any idea where I can get the engine RPM signal? I’m working on a project where I need to be able to read the engine RPM on an Arduino microcontroller. I found this post which mentions a white wire coming out of the PCM—anyone have any more specific info? Thanks!
I’ll prolly leave the manual toggle switch in there as an override in case I want to leave the hood up for long periods of time and want to turn the lights off, then also add the tilt switch.
Lol whoops. No, my bad. It just doesn’t go with the look I’ve created with my new design.
The lights were not working when I removed the OEM light. There was power to the box but no light.
Wired up the hood lighting. Used an “add-a-circuit” fuse tap to wire the hood lights in with the running lights and added a toggle switch above the headlight for the engine lights.
YouTube “short” link (I don’t think embed works for shorts).
Looks awesome! What are the benefits of the aftermarket panhard bar? I’ve had a ton of problems with mine due to my lift and have been considering going aftermarket.
Put the hood back on the Tahoe. The new LEDs light up the engine bay like daytime! Still need to finish up the wiring but here's a test run. Also installed three TRX style amber LED lights from Etrailer in the hood.
