When I've done remove and replace in the past, I ran masking tape along the bottom and sides of the existing lettering/emblem and measured from a known point (door edge). When ready to replace, measure and place tape back to original location and reapply new lettering.
Consider the requirements to waterproof a roof under the deck for the second floor and what would be entailed for repair or replacement. Also weatherproofing doors on the second floor to prevent leaks downstairs.
Don't know about the handle but I've used Chicago screws to fix something similar when it broke.
