    After the bend the broken line goes straight down for about 8 in where it's connected to a looks like a steel line that heads back towards the rear of the vehicle. I agree with Fless however I would replace the short broken line.

    Awesome find, unmolested 99 Tahoe with about 2,000 miles a year. I am the original owner of a 99 Tahoe with about 175,000 miles and the performance declines with age. My opinion is that getting to the next traffic light first isn't worth the risk and expense of installing "performance chips".

    I know you said it doesn't appear to be the fan. To me it sounds like the fan blade is hitting something since it varies with rpm and it has a hollow reverberating sound not a hard knock.

    AC Cooling

    I had the same problem. When the Tahoe is stopped air no air is flowing through the air conditioner condenser. I installed a fan in front of the condenser with a toggle switch under the dash that I turn on in stop and go traffic.

    If you are getting A/C cool air in the rear that indicates the A/C is working. If no A/C cool air in the front but A/C cool air in the rear is most likely caused by the blend door malfunction.

    I have been using Dexcool in my '99 Tahoe since I bought it new (23 years ago). I have had no issues with Dexcool however there are others who don't like Dexcool. Be sure to use the GM Cooling System Seal Tablet part number 12378255 per GM instructions.

    If my recollection is correct I believe one of the tabs was worn down as if it was placed on a grinder. I suspect that I had assembled it incorrectly during the last brake shoe replacement.
