Do you plan to keep it any length of time? I trade trucks like I trade wives... Every 3 years or so. The value of a dated body style is dropping quickly as folks like me upgrade to the new '15s.
I can't speak to the LT model but previous gen. LTZ vs '15 LTZ, no comparison. This is the nicest...
There is no question that you'll notice a big difference. The air ride and the added torque in the '15s makes trailering so much better. Fyi... I needed to go up to a 2" drop with this truck to level the trailer.
Btw... I'm envious! That portion of the country is beautiful with some crystal...
Have you ever seen my wife try to back out of our driveway? :)
I bought her a Range Rover HSE back in 2011 and she loved the 360 degree camera. Kept her out of trouble in all of those mall parking lots!
Thanks for telling everyone about my embarrassing moment, Nate. All of my neighbors thought I'd lost my mind seeing me kicking my foot under the liftgate, stupid manual!
GM couldn't sell me a new 8 speed tranny in its first model year. I've got some friends who have really suffered over Mopar's...
I'd imagine there is. On mine, I had to manually add it through the vehicle submenu. If the LT operates the same way, it's all done via the controls on the steering wheel. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll go out to the truck and write down instructions.
You are correct. The heavy duty trailering package comes with the 4Low transfer case, additional aux. cooler & 3.42 gearing. According to my manual on pg 9-80, the 4wd 5.3l with 3.08 gearing has a max towing capacity of 6300lbs, while the 3.42 gearing has a max towing capacity of 8300lbs.
I'd...
From GM Media release.
Z85 – Premium Smooth Ride with Air Control , which constantly senses and adjusts the rear suspension height until it is level. It is part of the trailering package available on LS and LT.
Z95 – Third-Generation Magnetic Ride Control . Standard on LTZ, it’s the world’s...
Anytime. We'd love to have you and the girls up on your next trip to the Carolinas!

I'm on two other forums for both of my boat manufacturers and tow vehicles are a regular topic there. I was surprised I...
So I joined this forum after searching long and hard on the towing performance of the '15 with magnetic ride control. Much to my dismay, I didn't find anything here or elsewhere on the web regarding towing impressions.
Today was the first day I was able to take out the boat and was able to test...
I just bought an LTZ and use it for towing a 6500lbs boat (mostly under 10 miles each way).
I priced the Denali vs. LTZ and was only about $3k difference, so not a deal breaker. I would have much rather had the 6.2l but I couldn't get over how much I disliked the Yukon front end, not that I was...
Thanks for all the welcomes!
Nate, I didn't want to mention you by name. After reading all 73 pages of your build thread, expectations might be way too high of me just by knowing you!
Previous lurker here and recently joined. I was searching through the forums to see what was being said about the '15 models and noticed a good friend from high school's truck in his avatar. I'm looking forward to being a part of the Kon/Hoe family here.
