Pads to go with Raybestos R-300 rotors

More pedal travel than I thought would be after the system maintenance. Mudsport asked if they were spongy and that would also apply. Again, I don't want to over dramatize that they are bad, just thought pedal travel would have been reduced.

Pads to go with Raybestos R-300 rotors

Good afternoon - I have an 05 LT with the 07 front caliper upgrade. I have the powerstop slotted, drilled rotors and pads for the last 6 years. They are ok, but would like to change for a better option. I recently had the abs control module unit replaced, new fluid and system calibrated by a...

    Front suspension refresh

Update - All is great now! Had alignment done the next day and was off just a bit. So much better driving down the road. Way better feel and don't get jarred to death when going over a bumps. With new front end and body bushings I thought it would ride a bit smoother, but it's all good. Just...

    Front suspension refresh

Needed a refresh with 145k! Have replaced tie rod ends and sway bar links about 4-5 yrs ago. Shocks about 1.5 years. Noticed the tie rods had movement on outter boot. New Moog CK upper/lower C/A, hubs, axles, tie rods I/O, sway bar links and bushings. There always seems to be a sticking point...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

That is what I will do. Just spent close to $1500 for all the front end stuff, including the body bushings. Didn't need to replace hubs and axles, but decided to. Thanks for the feedback. I'm starting the front end refresh now. It's only 85 outside and it's stifling in garage and I have...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Finally put in a new touch screen deck! What an improvement! This coming wknd, I will be doing a complete front suspension refresh! Moog CK u/l CA, tie rods, Cardone axles, Moog hub assembly, Moog stabilizers. I really want to do performance sway bars, but that takes me past my budget... Edit...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Finally fixed the squeaky rear brakes. The retaining clip was rubbing on the top of the rotor once they were heated up. It would embarrass my daughter when I dropped her off at school. Simply took off the caliper, pads and clip. Gave them a little squeeze with pliers, put some brake quiet on...

    Bad start to road trip!

Update - shop in Portland got go ahead to install new (serial# matched from low mileage used Tahoe). Got a call from initial shop saying they are picking up the whole bill! I was really surprised, because they were not wanting to cover bill. Only labor and half the case. I was already getting...

    Bad start to road trip!

Here is the latest...Transmission shop is only going to warranty labor for rebuilding the case. I only have 3k miles on it since it was replaced. Auto shop thinks it was low on fluid and that caused some issues. They are going to tear into it tomorrow to see what is going on inside. That...

    Bad start to road trip!

No traction control or stability control on mine. Still questioning if the two transfer cases are really interchangeable? Tech did say they put camera scope into case and found big shavings of metal. That is not a good sign after about 7 months. I haven't even drove it in auto or 4H since...

    Bad start to road trip!

Mine does have an auto button. Don't make fun of German cars. I had an A4 B6 that was the reason for all my gray hair! :D

    Bad start to road trip!

So when they scanned the truck, it said there should be a rear speed sensor on rear wheel. I looked just as two different mechanics looked, nothing. But there is one on the top of the transfer case. Here is where it gets interesting. Tech ordered part associated with vin# and it wasn't the right...

    Bad start to road trip!

More bad news. Module put in, brakes bled, but ABS light came back on and speedo still bouncing. Truck can go over 40mph though. They think when the transfer case was replaced (4/22) that the shop didn't calibrate it to truck. If I drive it, more than likely, it will burn up new module. Another...

    Bad start to road trip!

Owner of shop happen to stop by. He suggested taking out module and take it apart. All the torx screws are rusted, so they have to take the whole ABS unit off, which means bleeding the system. The Tahoe has almost no rust, but always in the wrong spot at wrong time.

    Bad start to road trip!

Well, drove down to Portland to return rental and get Tahoe to shop. Scanned it and abs control module...Nice little indy shop and guy was great. He scanned it multiple times and cleared codes. I would take it around the block to see if lights came back on and they did. Apparently there was no...

Much appreciated. I know at this point it's throwing mud on the wall without a scan.

    Bad start to road trip!

So got the oil changed earlier in the week at dealership (free lifetime oil changes), had dealership rotate tires and I put on new wipers. No running issues since last April on another volleyball road trip when my transfer case had issues and an ignition coil. So about two hours into a 5 hour...

    Transfer case leaking!

Drove it again and there was a few drops of fluid. Still can't locate the damn leak! The 246 badge is held on by small screw. Could that be a potential spot for a leak?

    Transfer case leaking!

Finally got around to looking at this more and have watched many videos on the transfer case. Used brake clean to degrease the underside of case and the area by output seal. Changed output seal since the tail was pretty gooped up. The top of case has no wet areas, only the bottom of the case...

    Tahoe started to run weird!

So I swapped coil #1 to #3. Idled a little rough and drove it to a street that I could accelerate and it threw P0303. So that means I have a bad coil! Going to store for one to see if it solves the issue. Edit - It worked. Thanks for all the assistance.

    Tahoe started to run weird!

The wires looked good when I removed plugs. They are MSD red and didn't see any issues. I will try your suggestion later tonight. I just replied to OP and I got P0300 and smelled liked cats do when backed up.

I just drove it around the neighborhood and it threw P0300 and its smelled like cats backed up. So should I try the lacquer thinner fix?
