Is the radiator fan working correctly? if u already changed the thermostat and coolant level is good, the radiator fan would be the next thing i look at. I pulled numerous 5000 lb trailers in 100+ weather with no issue.
I have had many intakes on different vehicles. I had a volant on my tahoe for a few years but took it off because all it did is make a lot of noise while pulling trailers with no noticeable power gain without a tune. Some vehicles yes, others no. If you do other mods and a tune go for it but if...
Yea i have a 5.3 with 3.73 gears. It does decent towing a car around. Pulled my fj40 2400 miles across country. Nothing to brag about though. I have a 4500 pound camper and it doesn't like it very much i guess because of the wind resistance. The truck pulls fine just the 5.3 is a little weak.
Didn't realize the 6.0 still had a fan clutch is 2007. My 2007 5.3 only has a electric fan. How did u check the clutch? I would just replace the fan clutch anyway. That is going to affect your temp at idle. I replaced the fan clutch on my brothers truck with an oem for the dealer a few years...
I do not have my tahoe here to look at it but i think there is a universal joint in the steering shaft a few inches above the rack. I would look at that first. Cant say I have ever seen a rack and pinion with play in it. Not questioning you but did you change all 4 tie rods or just the outer...
With a sealed bearing on newer cars like this one, checking for play like this usually does not help. If you actually have play in it, its prob been making nose for a very long time. You can not always jack it up and put it in gear to hear s bad bearing ether because then you do not have a load...
Do a compression test on that cyl. Prob will not even take 5 min. You can rent one from the parts store if you do not have one. If the compression is good, one easy trick is to swap out the coil with another cyl and see if the problem follows. Just because it has spark does not mean it cant be...
my 07 whined intermittently for years. It is a factory nav bose system but had a pioneer nav installed already when I purchased the truck. I installed a new oem alternator and the whine was still there. My head unit was stolen a few months ago so I had to install all new interfaces and new nav...
I have 2015 wheels on my 2007. I couldn't program them by letting air out of the tires so I took it to the dealer to program them. The tire warning stayed off for 2 days then came back on. I had to install tpms sensors for a 2007 and haven't had a problem sense.
I have had 3 pioneer dd in my Tahoe with the metra kit with no problems. The current one is a avic z120bt. That being said I have a 8000nex still in the box that is going in the Tahoe just haven't gotten around to it. Hopefully there will be no fitment issues.
Thanks for the info. The guy who purchased my oem 2007 wheels is giving my sensors back. He already had a set.The sensors weren't even 2 yrs old. Took the tahoe to the dealer today and u cannot use 2015 sensors for a 2007. They tried and they wouldn't program
My original sensor from the 07 wheels have a metal stem. You insert it from the inside and screw it on from the outside, I have replaced them about 2 yrs ago. The new wheels have the sensor with the rubber stem where you just pull it from the inside like a regular stem. I haven't tried to swap...
I have a 07 tahoe with the screw on tpms sensors not the rubber ones. I installed a set of 2015 ltz take off wheels witch have the rubber tpms sensors and the next day it flagged the tpms because i had not relearned the new sensors. I tried to relearn them and the truck would not except them...
I have a volant intake kit #15253 for sale. There is prob around 20k on it and is in like new condition. Still have the original box. Might be interested in trading for a airaid jr with filter if low miles and in great shape. I like the intake but can get a little noisey pulling the boat with...
