UPDATE on 8" Shallow Mount Subwoofer drivers to fit in 01-02 OEM box
Hey I know this is a late reply, but the new 48 series (designed Kicker's 48th year as a business) CompRT is actually 8.5", however, there's the plastic ring all the way around it. You'll have to cut the side towards the top so you can peel the outer ring off. It takes ~2 min with a Dremel...- cornut
