I’m beginning to think it is the tires. I rotated them yesterday and the vibration is gone until I get to about 82-83 MPH. But then you can feel it in the back end. The tires are Bridgestone’s and have probably around 30k miles on them.
I have the same problem with my 2016 Yukon with 22” factory wheels. Road force balance did nothing to help. Still trying to figure it out. Starts around 77-78 MPH and gets worse from there.
Got my Yukon back after about a week and a half at transmission shop. Total cost was around $6,300 for a complete rebuild with several upgraded parts and a HD TC. Got a couple hundred miles on it and it feels great. Also ordered a Range AFM disabler which will be here in a couple days.
My 2016 Yukon with 103k is getting the transmission rebuilt as we speak. Been in the shop for over a week. They are also looking into a bad vibration at 75 MPH. Could be torque converter but they are checking a few other things including driveshaft while it’s there. After spending 6k on it, I’d...
Mine had 103k. No towing and 80% highway miles. Sad we have to go through this. My rebuild is costing $6k with several upgrades and 18 month, 18k mile warranty. Pretty big unexpected expense.
Just a quick update.. truck is currently in the shop getting a complete rebuild with an HD TC. The owner also recommended I get an AFM disabler to stop it from switching to 4 cylinder mode. He said this system is problematic with these engines and transmissions. Looking at the one from Range...
I’ll find all that out tomorrow, thank you. Just wondering at this point if going with a new or reman trans would be a better option. Guess that will largely depend on what the shop will offer for a warranty. Thanks again!
So the shop just called. I won’t have time to get over there until tomorrow for them to explain everything to me. But they are saying the torque converter is the issue, but that the entire transmission needs to be rebuilt. $5,800 or $6,025 with heavy duty TC. Ouch. Should I get another opinion...
Good morning! So in addition to a provable failed torque converter at 103k, my 2016 Yukon SLT has had a severe vibration issue which starts around 74 MPH and gets really bad over 80. I had the wheels Road Force balanced. Found a bent rim so I replaced it. Vibration still present just as bad...
I’m about to bring my 2016 Yukon with 103k in for a probable TC failure. Pretty frustrating to deal with this expense since it’s 90% highway miles. It also has the wobble at 75 MPH plus which I think is the driveshaft.
Thanks for the reply! Quite the expense.. cost of ownership of this Yukon has been brutal. Are there any other services/ parts I should have them do/replace while their at it?
Good morning. First time poster here. I did read some past threads on this issue. But am looking for some recommendations .
Bought a CPO 2016 Yukon with 75k mikes in 2019. Of course, shortly after the warranty expired things started to go wrong. (AC broke twice) Now, with 103k on it, the 6...
