You're correct, PPV 4wd wasn't offered until 2015. Neither the dealership or previous owner bothered looking up any RPO or VIN #. I didn't even realize it wasn't a PPV until I started working on it and researching parts and things. When I contacted the previous owner, he said that it was...
I posed this question on a different thread, as I was told by both the previous owner and my local dealership that it was a PPV. I put up the VIN and RPO, and people here much more knowledgeable than I concluded that it was an SSV... I was just as confused as you are
Correct, I was asking if the PPV rear struts will fit my SSV without any additional hardware or adjustments... I'm looking for the slightly lowered stance in the back
That's what the tuner said, the guys recommended changing it for the tune, then gave me the option of switching back afterwards. I chose to stick with 93 just for not having to drive 15-20 minutes for the nearest flex
Just replaced transmission, Billet TC and tuned for 1st-4th lock out, calibrated speedometer. Never knew how awesome these can really drive!! '12 SSV, AFT/VVT delete, CAI, Cat Back. Love this damn Tahoe.
Howdy neighbor! Chapel Hill here... Im at 160k, runs like new after all the work done. Not in search of more HP, but need to drop the trans temp when towing. Otherwise she's perfect!
All I know for sure is that it was a Homeland Security truck out of Texas, according to the paperwork from the previous owner that bought it at govt auction. No radio counsel, spot lights or warning lights ever installed, no evidence of plugged antenna holes anywhere.
Thanks! Swathdiver commented the dealership may have been thinking of a different trans... I had both sets of cooling lines replaced, mechanic said the cooler looked good, but I may start looking at an upgrade. The pan isn't terrible, about $300, and with my buddy we can do it.
Ok, that might explain why they said that at the dealership.... as far as towing, it's pretty consistent under heavier load (uphill, warm weather) but doesn't drop much otherwise. I was thinking a larger capacity pan with the new gears. Just replaced both oil and tranny cooling lines, had...
Hey y'all, thanks for the replies... I tried to post the RPO to as many as I could. I guess the dealership just looked at it and said "yeah, it's a PPV" Next step is installing a bigger capacity transmission pan and 3.73 gears (camper towing). My fluid temps get to 240°f and I know these...
Ok, so I'm not crazy. Good to know.... I'm still wondering how the dealership determined it was a PPV, guess they didn't run the vin and just said "yup"
