    Thanks, Fless.

    2009-2014 6L80 better than 2015+?

I don't discount the tune or that it's the best there is for these rigs. I do Crown Vics on the side and there's literally one guy in the Nation who does excellent tunes for them who I swear by and will never, ever recommend or support anyone else. I understand the loyalty, I understand the...

    2009-2014 6L80 better than 2015+?

Well that's brilliant. Unfortunately for me I just bought the truck at 111,000 so all I can do now is listen to advice on whether or not to change the fluid and cross my fingers. I do like that filter though - if you have time to provide the specs on that, it might be something to try this summer.

    Even better.

WOW 400 beans for a Black Bear tune. Ouch.

I'll look into that tune. I'm trying not to dislodge the tranny from the truck so confidence is low that I'll be upgrading the TC before the tranny goes.

*Edit sorry thought that was for me

If it weren't for the aggressive downshifting when slowing, I'd keep it in tow/haul at all times. I just like the way the truck feels and performs and I think it does, too. I should probably get a good tune.

    2009-2014 6L80 better than 2015+?

Perfect, thanks. I'll wait until the weather warms up here in CNY and do a pan drop and filter change, probably in May. I'll only put 4000 miles on it between now and then and I'm pretty gingerly. I always try to drive in a style that makes the transmission hunt less and go in and out of OD...

    2009-2014 6L80 better than 2015+?

Thank you for that reply, it's informative and encouraging. I just bought a 2012 with 111,000 and based on the Carfax, no transmission service history. It may have been done, it may not. Based on your experience, would you recommend a pan drop and filter change, a flush, or leave it alone...

    2011 Yukon Denali not starting.

Thanks I saw that. Not my first time on a forum. Some people move on but still get email notifications - that was my hope.

Upgrade to Nav unit 2012 Tahoe

Yup it seems the NAV units have 4 plugs and the regular units like I have use 2 plugs. Still can't believe I'm the first guy who wanted to do this...

    2011 Yukon start issue

Why do these trucks change so high? Anyway, to the OP check that other thread there's a guy having a similar issue. Seems like when this occurs in these trucks it's either loose or corroded battery cables, usually the negative cable from what I'm gathering. Interestingly, I had the same issue...

Hey OP, any resolution to this?

Upgrade to Nav unit 2012 Tahoe

Yup that was the plan. I just wanted to see if the factory plugs/wiring harnesses would transfer right over from my stereo to the Nav. I guess nobody here has tried that yet.

Upgrade to Nav unit 2012 Tahoe

Man I never liked aftermarket units. Can't stand them, in fact. What's so hard about taking this one out and putting a Nav unit in? Is it a plug and play affair then get the VIN reprogrammed? BTW I'm not really doing it for the NAV, I'm doing it to have a more interactive and slightly modern...

Upgrade to Nav unit 2012 Tahoe

Can I swap this OEM stereo out for one of the ones with the screen display? How much of a pain is that while retaining SiriusXM, etc.

    2009-2014 6L80 better than 2015+?

I'd be more inclined to agree if I didn't have to pay for a new one at 100K miles with a fluid change at 60K. But I think for the number on the road vs. the number that have problems, you have to say that in most cases the odds are in your favor, especially if you maintain your stuff.

What's the most economical way to have the trans tuned in such a fashion?

    2009-2014 6L80 better than 2015+?

From what I'm gathering, the 6L80 in the GMT900 trucks was pretty much identical to the 6L80 in the K2 trucks, minus the stupid thermostat (which is good I guess). Since I'm looking at a 2012 with AFM, I assume the factory tune does the same thing to the torque converter and I should expect no...

    2009-2014 6L80 better than 2015+?

It was around 5K and change for them to remove my bad 6L80 and replace it with a new one, and that was like two years ago. Not sure if a rebuild would have been more.

    2009-2014 6L80 better than 2015+?

The transmission in my 2016 Suburban made it to around 100,000 miles before it gave up and cost me $5000. I'm looking at a 2012 Tahoe and was wondering if the older 6L80's were free of this horrible torque converter and high temperature issues that the K2 trucks have? I don't know much about...
