My fuel gauge does something similar. Fill it and it reads empty, after 80 miles are so it reads full. Then when its used 13+ gals it reads various amounts between full and empty?
I changed the fuel pump/gauge module and nothing changed?

If you tow (oil, H2O, ATF gets too hot) and your Yuk didn't come with an oil cooler, this can be part of a oil cooler system install w/#8, #10, or #12 AN lines.
Earlier this yr I installed a new Bosch # 67442 Fuel pump module in our 07 Denali w/195k miles. It was running great but the fuel gauge was acting wonky. This didn't fix my fuel gauge problem. Vehicle still runs great. Every once in a while, the gauge starts working properly?

I used Dorman# 635-518 for my 07 6.2L Denali 6 yrs & 70k miles ago and it still dry as a bone :)
