    Service Stabilitrak

It was called the Internal Mode Switch It was shorting out. Not sure if it’s the same for you but once that assembly was replaced the issues went away for us.

    Service Stabilitrak

Yes, ultimately ended up changing a wire harness inside the transmission and haven’t had the issue since.

    Oil viscosity recommendation

With 5W30 being better protection over the 0W20 from the factory, why stop there? Why doesn't anyone suggest a 10W30 or 10W40? Why not a 20W50 even haha

Hot Day / Power Steps Not Extending

my wifes '17 yukon does this every now and then as well. I havent noticed any pattern of when it happens. Just sometimes it wont come out, I can hear the motor try at first but then it stops. I close the door and re open and it works.

2019 5.3 Suburban Rough idle at stop No Codes Run good though

Did you use the diablosport predator X tuner? I was looking at those and it looks like you can adjust the idle, disable AFM as well as input tunes if you want. Doesnt seem bad for $300

    IMS Internal Mode Switch

Our extended warranty ended up covering the repair and so far the issues haven’t come back. Knock on wood.

    IMS Internal Mode Switch

Thanks @NickTransmissions . Will it come out without removing the valve body assembly? If I do myself is there anything else I should replace with it, the part that plugs into the IMS for example? Do you happen to have the part numbers I would buy too?

    IMS Internal Mode Switch

My wife’s 17 Yukon Denali 6.2 has been struggling with random “service stabilitrack” and “shift to park” errors even though it is in park for awhile now. When this happens the power and throttle response are cut back and it won’t let you turn the car off because, I assume, thinks the car is not...

    GM Paint issues

I thought GM solved their clear coat issues with the old NBS generations? My 97 tahoe was the factory teal green color and it looked like it had sunburns its whole life. Every year more and more clear would flake off. By the time I traded it a few years ago the roof, hood and top half of the...

    Spark Plugs for 6.2L

Very true. I have a bunch of random car and Harley specialty tools that Ive acquired over the years, either at trade shows or just reading random forums with people having to get a special tool to fix a problem I never had. But if I ever do Im ready! lol

2020 with slight vibration at idle

Is the truck new to you? I read that these have such a low idle speed from factory for EPA that it feels like a miss fire. Our 17 has a slight "miss" while idling however I have had it hooked to a scanner and no miss fires were reported and plugs and wires are new. Apparently raising the idle...

    Spark Plugs for 6.2L

Cylinders 1-7 should take ~ an hour. Dam cylinder 8 takes another hour itself haha. Theres a couple good videos on youtube showing tricks and some cool tools that would help if you are like me and always looking for an excuse to buy a new tool, but you can do it with most regular tools if you...

    8L90 Thermostat bypass

Is this the same as the "flip the pill" mod? If so I did it about a year ago with a replacement kit on our '17 and noticed the trans temp stays a lot lower than before.

    2nd row captain chair swap

Yea I actually bought captain chairs off eBay to get it done and then sold my bench to someone local a few weeks later for $100 more than I spent.

    Service Stabilitrak

And of course the warranty company is saying this isn’t covered. Not sure why we bout that dam warranty package at this point haha

    Service Stabilitrak

I thought the shifter was worn out since it would move up and down while in gear so I replaced that with a new GM one but nothing changed. I guess that “sloppy” fit/action is just how they are. Instead of continuing to throw parts at it I dropped it off at the dealership to scan it deeper and...

    Service Stabilitrak

The wife’s 2017 Yukon XL Denali 6.2 had a service message come on saying “Service Stabilitrack” today. I checked it out with my cheopo scanner and pulled the two codes below but have no idea what they would relate to. P182A P0700 The symptoms I found while driving are below, not sure if they...

There are just some days I wish I didn't turn wrenches

A few months back I helped my nephew get his "project" 2004 Honda Civic 2.0 running, what a nightmare that was with random electrical and fuel delivery issues. Last week I got a call it was was making a knocking noise so I go check it out annnnnnnnd he rod knocked it somehow haha. He asked me...

    1963 Cutlass

Not sure. Got plans/parts to rebuild the sbc350 in it soon to freshen it back up. I also swapped in a 200-4r trans for OD a coupkk Lae months ago but it wants to shift way early, so I need to figure that out too. If it gets into the 12s this summer I’ll be happy. It’s more of a fun cruiser to...

    1963 Cutlass

True. This is more a west coast process haha since we don’t salt the roads. Our “winter” is just sub 60s temp with hopefully a couple months of rain

Who needs a battery tender?! Just a quick video of how I like to keep the battery charged up on my 63 during the winter when the weather breaks haha
