    This is an excellent point. I once moved the headlight dimmer switch to a toggle under the dash, so I could install a dead pedal on the floor. It worked fine, until it didn't. Out in the middle of nowhere, during the wee hours, the switch overheated [basically melted] and I lost my lights...
