I lucked up and found a local guy I could just pull up on and swap clusters. But yes at this point swap it out or "upgrade". That reminds me of a movie called Idiocracy. Pimps name was Upgrade! Yall have got to watch it!
That last pic of the outside rib worn, looks like it was off on one of the pulleys on start up. Question, why r the belts being replaced? If there is something wrong that tore up the first one then it might be doing the same to that one
If u start the truck, can u push lightly on the cluster on the middle bottom just above the column. Does it do anything? If it works on another than it is rebuild time. There are fokes online that will rebuild it or send u one and urs is a core.
Possibly blew a fuse when u jumped it? Low side switch has 3 wires or 2? I don't remember. Get a power probe or jump the ac relay. There should be a constant 12v on one and a switch on 12v at the relay. If u can't make the clutch click on and off from the relay then it's after the relay. Ur...
Where does it sound like it's coming from? Front or rear? Under ur seat? Does it change when u steer side to side as u are rolling? Remove the front drive shaft and drive. See if it quits or is not as loud. If it's not as loud then in the chunck u go.
This got me thinking. Send ur water pump to someone that has warranty on there's and swap it and boom! Warranty!!!
I'm 2000 to 2006 full lifetime warranty. 5.3 waterpump.
