    Today I replaced the blower motor, with a GM replacement. It took a couple minutes to relocate the motor perfectly to ‘turn to lock’, but it only took 15 minutes for the job.. It’s nice and silent ( no more off-n-on squeaks )….. The fan is a bit more powerful out the vents also !

    One of the Chips police actors, Bruce Penhall, was a champion Speedway motorcycle racer, turned actor. He raced one of our circle racing trucks in California for a while…. Bruce was promoting his custom sun glasses ( Note the black hood ) ..He had some stories about Chips!! :p

    Won't start/start

    In my ’88 GMC / 5.7, I put in an MSD coil ( found out it was junk / not what they used to be )……. A coil can fail intermittently …. The coil doesn’t always just STOP working…. it can drive you crazy.

    ( Pass experience )……. May I suggest you search for a performance - suspension / custom truck shop near you. They are all techs & can solve it in a day. Prices are the same as a ‘run of the mill’ auto repair business. BUT BETTER.

    I doubt a cell phone audio will be accurate enough. His mechanic says a rod. Maybe a destroyed bearing ?

    I wondered if a noisy top-end fail….. But his mechanic suspects a bottom end knock. ???? A heavier rod knock would be a hole through the block ?

    OUCH…….. if the engine is the only problem……. Options……. Depends on your budget……. and time……. How is the rest of it doing?? Compare the cost of replacing the engine verses buying another Tahoe.

    Car looks bigger than a 2005. Closer to a ’95 size, but the roof line is still different than a ’95……. ( Hard to tell…. they did a nice job ! ). But the fuel door is near where a 2005 would be ?? Hmmm...
