    Towing Heavy

True, I'll try to adjust load to the front. The axle ratio is 3.08 I'm in Houston, but I had a trailer tire blowout near Hillsboro TX, and then a second blowout 30 minutes later, and limped at 5 mph on the shoulder to the Bucc-ee's there, and spent the night in the parking lot. I bought new...

    Towing Heavy

I have factory air shocks and spring helper bags as well. Do you think I need to adjust the WDH? It was set by Holiday World before I put the spring helper bags in.

    Towing Heavy

Hey everyone — wanted to share a detailed breakdown of my towing setup. My combination is a 2016 Yukon XL and Keystone Bullet 2730BH (6550 lbs loaded). I am 220 lbs under the Yukon GVWR, and ~20 lbs under the rear axle rating by relocating the spare tire to the trailer and only carrying kids...

Proactive maintenance - New to me 2023 Yukon SLT 5.3 60k miles

See I requested an "intake service"at my shop. I've attached the invoice from that work, does this look right to you?

Proactive maintenance - New to me 2023 Yukon SLT 5.3 60k miles

Thanks for this. By wires do you mean replace the engine wiring harness? And by intake service do you mean engine air filter only? (I guess I'm handy, but not a mechanic).

2018 GMC yukon xl SLT Grille guard

Following. I have a 2016 and had a deer strike a few months ago, now I'm on this same quest. From what I have read thus far, you will need parking proximity extensions for the two center sensors, and you will need to trim square holes in the front fascia trim to attach the brush guard to the...

Proactive maintenance - New to me 2023 Yukon SLT 5.3 60k miles

I've purchased a used rental 2023 Yukon SLT with 60k miles. I'm looking through the threads on the 5.3 L84 and the 10L80. I'm trying to learn about this coming from my 2016 Yukon 5.3 6l80 world (which I still own). Below is what I'm gleaning from searching the forums. Can you gents offer some...

Bought a “30k mile” 2016 LTZ… turned out to be ~200k miles (odometer rollback) – warning to others

Autonation. I honestly think they had no idea and got scammed too. They said they will take a loss since they bought it back for what I paid. They said the car will go to wholesale and the odometer discrepancy will be disclosed and follow the VIN going forward.

Bought a “30k mile” 2016 LTZ… turned out to be ~200k miles (odometer rollback) – warning to others

It was Autonation. They bought it back. I lost Taxes paid. The alternative was arbitration. I don't know anything about that, so I took the buyback offer.

Bought a “30k mile” 2016 LTZ… turned out to be ~200k miles (odometer rollback) – warning to others

I'll go to the service department and get this printout for my records, in case I need more "evidence". Definitely will do this for the next one before purchase.

Bought a “30k mile” 2016 LTZ… turned out to be ~200k miles (odometer rollback) – warning to others

Hey everyone, I'm now a victim of odometer rollback fraud. I want to share what happened to me so others don’t get burned the same way. I recently bought a 2016 Tahoe LTZ from a national dealership chain. Super clean truck, great interior, and it even had a recently installed Jasper reman...

    2023 GMC Yukon AT4 6.2L dead at 10K miles

MPG cutting is a problem too. Lifters fail, torque converter shreds its aluminum cover, to meet govt mpg requirements, all at the expense of the end customer. Saves you some gas, but you end up paying GM for parts/repair instead, so they come out ahead.

2016 Yukon/L680 Transmission upgrades for HD TOW 2016 Yukon XL

Our requirements are 6 seats and can pull the 31' 6k lb trailer in the attached pic. We may either upgrade the Yuke to a sierra 2500/f-250 with front center jump seat, or trade in the trailer and get a class C. The wife and kids are excited about being able to mess around inside a class C while...

2016 Yukon/L680 Transmission upgrades for HD TOW 2016 Yukon XL

Just an update for anyone interested. I've been on a few long trips (2k miles round trip each) and the weight and drag of the RV makes the truck run at 3k plus RPMs on normal highway in 4th (I think), I never go over 65 mph, yet it doesn't confidently haul this load. Even the thought of...

What is this tray in the engine bay supposed to hold? (2018 Tahoe Premier RST w/6.2L & 10spd)

2016 Yukon/L680 Transmission upgrades for HD TOW 2016 Yukon XL

I went with Performance Torque Converters of Texas because they were the best value I could find after researching all of these options and calling around. The circle D TC was overkill for my application and costly. PTC of Texas was recommended somewhere else in this forum, I believe. The clutch...

    2015 tahoe tow mirror's

I bought the k source snap and zap clip on's and I'm quite happy. None of the other aftermarket mirrors have the full functionality of the OEM mirrors, and these clip ons work quite well, no vibration, you can still fold them in while attached. They are a good value and get the job done.

2016 Yukon/L680 Transmission upgrades for HD TOW 2016 Yukon XL

You are correct, I wasted a lot of time with the updated cooler bypass. The superior tech delete kit did the trick. Temps are never over 140f. That is with the Mishimoto cooler mind you. I'm still on the fence about a TC upgrade just because the part costs over $1k. Part of me wants to kick...

2016 Yukon/L680 Transmission upgrades for HD TOW 2016 Yukon XL

I got the superior tech delete kit. Just now had to put it all back together to drive to harbor freight and get the snap ring pliers for that. What I keep referring to as the TBV bulletin was done with the updated part from the dealer (updated GM housing?) And it didn't seem to help. The...

2016 Yukon/L680 Transmission upgrades for HD TOW 2016 Yukon XL

I've read about others who still have high temps despite doing TBV Bulletin. And I think my temps stay high from 180-190. So I'm going to delete it with the shift kit today.

2016 Yukon/L680 Transmission upgrades for HD TOW 2016 Yukon XL

Yep, subscribed. With your help we can do much more for sure. However, I think basic economics theory implies that you should do transmission rebuilds, and I should do IT, and we should trade. That way we can do more, better.

Thank you @NickTransmissions Does this one have all of that? https://www.circledspecialties.com/products/gm-300mm-pro-series-6l80-triple-disk-torque-converter Also, I checked out your youtube channel and it's very good. It mainly taught me how much I don't know and where my limits are as a DIY'er.

2016 Yukon/L680 Transmission upgrades for HD TOW 2016 Yukon XL

Thank you. I reached out to Black Bear and they said my 2016 Yukon requires the Autcal V3 option. They said to swap the torque converter first if that's what I plan to do.
