    one thing to be aware of some replacement lock cylinders cannot be re-keyed if you replace the lock, then you "might" also have to do a security relearn as the HALL sensor is inside the housing, hence no chip keys on the gmt800's

    the key can be cut from the key code, you would need to visit a gm dealer with proof of ownership. the fob is probably easiest to replace with a dorman kit that comes with a obd plug that only works 3 times, so be sure the battery is charged and that you follow the directions.
