Is a Tech 2 Still The Way To Go?

This says "It Can Only Support 12V Cars, No Trucks." Is that incorrect?

When is it not worth it to repair?

Thanks! I was unaware it was a GM warranty. As of right now, they only show the rear GM Genuine shocks as available.

My Installation of A Diode Dynamics SS3 LED Fog Light Kit as Driving Lights

I haven't done any, but can probably get some next week. I'll use my Canon 5D MkII on manual so the on/off comparison is more realistic (the caveat being that I have Hella 90mm headlights on one side and a stock headlight setup on the other).

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I'll be interested to see your evaluation of the results with the lights shining over a white hood. The possibility of glare is one reason I didn't go that route with my Tahoe when I installed my driving lights.

That sounds like a pretty good endorsement for the Dorman pan. Was this the 265-582 kit? Looks kinda pricey, but it does contain the pan, gasket, and filter.

The problem with those is that you can't have a dead pedal, unless you put it under the brake pedal like some Mopars had. I much prefer column-mounted and intend to change my AMC Spirit to that if I can find a non-tilt column with it (it's my autocross car and the lack of a dead pedal sucks).

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Sure, I've polished similar scratches out of other auto glass (used cerium oxide on a BMW windshield), but it's preferable to take steps to help prevent it from happening in the first place, thus my additional squirter that started this whole discussion about dry glass & grit.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I hadn't mentioned the rear glass in my Tahoe, but it is indeed scratched. Again, no one is claiming the rubber scratches the glass. It's what the rubber is pushing/dragging that's scratching the glass. It's uniformly scratched across the width of blade, which is evident when direct light...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

You're really working hard to pretend that you don't understand what we're talking about. No one here has said they're worried about rubber scratching the glass. No one. We've repeatedly used the word "grit," which includes stuff like road dust and sand kicked up into the air and onto your...

Windshield Washer Squirters -- Anyone Modified The Terrible Design?

In the case of the 535i, heated seats were only available in Europe. I wish I knew why our cruise-control sucks. OTOH, I can say that the panel fit/gaps of my Tahoe is noticeably superior to that of my 535i. This isn't due to the wear and tear on the BMW, but moreso that the Tahoe has...

Windshield Washer Squirters -- Anyone Modified The Terrible Design?

As someone who's had a mid-'80s BMW 535i since '92, agreed. ABS, 4-wheel disc, 4-wheel independent suspension, port injection, automatic climate control, multi-function computer, instantaneous MPG needle, power windows/locks/sunroof, full leather, and a cruise control that worked (unlike our...

I run the squirters for multiple swipes, but thanks for the "education," I guess. "Leading" is relative to the motion of the wiper on the first swipe, not to the motion of the vehicle. That should have been obvious. I don't mind stating the obvious.

Windshield Washer Squirters -- Anyone Modified The Terrible Design?

I was just eyeballing it and it looks as if squirters installed in the outer cowl pieces where the hood hinge slots are and set to have streams in and up (maybe 30° up from horizontal for one nozzle and 15° inboard of vertical for another) might work. They wouldn't get engine heat and the hoses...

Windshield Washer Squirters -- Anyone Modified The Terrible Design?

@j91z28d1, thanks for pointing out those clip-on squirters. I'd seen them, but discounted using them because where they'd clip on would still be in front of the blade. As for hood-mounted squirters, my overall policy for the Tahoe is to not implement anything that cannot be reversed, and...

It should, since it's in the wake of the wiper arm.

Windshield Washer Squirters -- Anyone Modified The Terrible Design?

No, I didn't add a pre-spray button. I don't use automatic carwashes, so that's no issue for me. Snow and ice? Note my location. If there's enough of either on my vehicle to damage this, I'm not driving anywhere. There would have to be a whole lot of leaves on the windshield to cause any...

Windshield Washer Squirters -- Anyone Modified The Terrible Design?

Well, I finally got around to fabricating a solution! I machined an aluminum distribution block to go under the wiper arm, with barbs to tap into the existing hose and a 10-32 machine screw to attach the block to the arm. The new squirter is epoxied into the block and is fabricated from three...
