I had the same issue with my 2006. The little grommet style piece inside the ring that latches onto the selector on the transmission itself broke and wouldn’t stay on. On a road trip home to Southern California from Utah last month at every stop it would fall off and I had to crawl under it and...
I did my drivers side lower sensor a couple months back on my 06 AWD, and it was simple. A flexible ratchet and socket like they said above and it came out easily. The loom and wire cover on mine sagged down for some reason enough to let the driveshaft rub the loom off and then starting rubbing...
While my 2006 XL Denali came from the factory with efans, my truck is blackbear performance tuned here in Southern California mountain town and it’s never given me problems passing smog. Depends on where you are, some shops like to do the inspections to be nit picky but externally there’s...
Glad you are able to help your dad out and that it all worked out for you!
After 10 years owning my 2006 Yukon XL Denali with my LQ4 6.0… I still cant believe how indestructible the thing has been for me. I travel like you do often and on long road trips a couple times a year. Just did 1300...
Good point about fit and finish! Makes everything easier when it Doesn’t present any problems for disassembly for maintenance and such when it all goes tougher nicely and easily. My spectre intake pipe mates up perfectly to the OEM air box with no modification necessary and all fits together...
I had a cone style filter on a spectre intake for a number of years on my 2006 Denali so far have not had any problems passing smog with here in Southern California. I recently decided to put a K&N dip in filter to my factory air box that’s been sitting in the garage since the swap. But mounted...
Dang….. so many different issues I didn’t know about could happen with these things. lol. I was lucky my track pieces snapped but lodged right at the forward bit of track so it would drop to open and then just stop. But I got even luckier that mine would still close. So I left it closed to...
So there’s no power going to the motor?
Usually when these sunroofs fail, the track pieces that slide the glass along the track guides have broken and gotten lodged in the track. GM in their infinite wisdom decided to use plastic parts for the pieces that hook to the glass and move it back and...
Welp…. My return trip from Utah through the night was eventful given that the grommet type thing on the end of the shift cable securing it to the lever on the the side of the trans is supposed to have a snap ring type bit inside it that secured it into to the lever. Yeah mine was missing that...
I made my aunts(who always makes these for their annual derby day party) crowd favorite hit of bourbon balls for dessert to fuel the fireworks festivities and they were definitely the favorite dessert. I almost felt guilty cuz they outshined the store bought peach cobbler that friends put out…...
I really like these Denali trucks with a bumper lip. Looks really good. Every time I think I wanna put one on, I remember and think to myself ” the first snowstorm of the winter and I have to drive to work at the ski resort…. Inevitably I’ll have to drive over some icy shenanigans in the road or...
Anyways… the plan was to take another trip down the river after the first trip. So we loaded up and ferried everyone up again. And this time 7 seats filled in the Denali plus one of the guys in our group floated the river on a big inflatable stand up paddle board and the only way to ferry it...
Also why does my last post need “moderator approval?! Really?!?! What are we kindergartners on here now?! Seriously it’s my own build thread….. that’s annoying AF……
Made it up here and settled into my short vacation/working on my friends cars. Instead of a day long party this year at the house, friends decided on tube floating the Weber river. I was under the impression that it was gonna be a lazy river float….. it was entirely not…. More like a cat 2 river...
The spare tire hoist fought me and made it I pain in the behind to get up in. In addition to brake pads being wrong it delayed my trip to leaving Wednesday afternoon on the second instead of driving through the night to avoid holiday traffic and high desert temps. But the wheel cleaned up and...
Been a busy couple months since the end of April and getting my Denali back up and running. But thankfully it’s been running like a champ carting my detail gear around as I shine up rides. Every time I think I want newer one, I get in to head to work and just think nah….. I like my big always a...
What my truck will look like with fresh paint haha.
Still such a good looking wheel upgrade you made! I ran 275/60 nitto durra grapplers on stock suspension on a previous set of 20s and never ran into rubbing at all either.
Heck yeah man!! Dura coatings makes such good stuff! Them wheels will be so simple to keep clean with a coating in them haha. That reminds me I need to our in an order for some stuff from them soon haha.
Love that you’re making such amazing memories with your family!! Metallica, college road trips, crazy hotels, love it!! New rims look fantastic on the burn!! Always loved that particular GM wheel.
