Came back to house and had lunch and then we rolled up to Hill Air Force base to their air museum cuz I’d read that they have an SR-71 on display. I’ve seen one in person many times as before I moved to big bear I lived in Moreno Valley 5 minutes from March Air Reserve base. Which is where the...
Today was a whirlwind day. Kate-Lynn and I took the pups on a short hike all of 10 minutes from the house at a neat little hiking trail/pond area in a little canyon area. Warm sunshine today was perfect for the 2 mile loop with the three dogs they have.
Brought my detail gear with me and spent Friday giving Kate-Lynn’s new to her bronco sport and Bryce’s 2016 ram 3500 that used to belong to his mom, which is driven many times, the royal detail treatments. Bryce had a harbor freight foam cannon and I liked it so much I went and grabbed one. 35...
Rest of the 4the spent partying with the homies. Met a few more my friends’ friends and had a great day. Lots of laughter, sunshine, a couple adult bevvies here and there. Not too much though for me since I’m not a big drinker. lol. Inflatable water slide runs. Corn hole. Good food. And Bryce...
Thursday the 4th was quite the fantastic day. Got to cross a bucket list item off and couldn’t be more excited about it. Been watching union Pacific railroad’s social media the last couple weeks as they’ve been sharing videos of their 4-8-8-4 big boy locomotive a ton, locomotive #4014. I...
Well guys hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th of July! Well those is here in the states at least haha. Sorry to y’all Canadians that the 4th of July is just another regular day…. :Big Laugh:
Anyways it’s been a very interesting week…. Lots to update on.
Got the water pump squared away...
A week into ownership of my 2006 I found out that the wipers didn’t lift up and stay up. All of my previous vehicles did this. I was pissed at GM and then when I detailed a 2001 Tahoe for a client his wiper blades magically picked up….. needless to say I sourced wiper arms from a 2002 Denali in...
Oh totally…. Catch more flies with honey is how I try to run things haha.
I appreciate the compliments! I wish my paint was in better shape but I’m working on tackling that myself and soon haha. I like having a well kept older rig :chewie:
Welcome from another GMT800 owner in Southern California. These things are perfect road trip rigs and are pretty easy to make them very reliable even in older age. My 2006 has just shy of 199k on the clock and I’m planning to take a road trip totaling 1500 miles by the time I get home with it...
Thanks! Unfortunately with the Marina I didn’t have a choice since I couldn’t back it down based on their rules. And I didn’t have time to get her over to the ramp where I could, but it made it out fine so I didn’t worry about it.
Welp….. fired the parts cannon too soon and shot myself in the foot with it…. :banghead:
Apparently my water pump, which is only a handful of years old and probably no more than 60-ishk on it maybe? I don’t know I’m tired of replacing stuff lol. But got a new water pump in today…. Leaky...
Be self employed they said… it’ll be fun they said….
Be a DIY guy they said… it’ll be fun they said….
Be a “rely on yourself and fix things yourself” kinda guy… it’ll be fun they said….
Be a gearhead… it’ll be fun they said….
Ooi….. I’m exhausted lol. I have been going non stop and after...
To answer your question regarding 2WD vs 4WD wheels. That’s only an issue for the GMT400 platform. That’s where 2WD SUVs and pickups had a different bolt patterned wheel than their 4WD counter parts. Which because you have a 2016 does not affect you whatsoever.
Basically with 2000 all the way...
This right here…… spot in…
Why GM is charging insane amounts of money for these rigs new and putting the cheapest, crappiest tires on them blows my mind….. get rid of those Bridgestones… there’s a reason why they’re nicknamed “brickstones”
FYI this generation of Denali did not come with mag ride suspension setup. The only SUVS in the GMT900 lineup that got that option was the Escalades. The Denali trimmed SUVs will have virtually the same Z55 autoride suspension setup just like the previous gen trucks, although from what I...
Welcome from another socal member! San Clemente is beautiful! My bro in law was stationed at Pendleton while he was in the marine corps. As a high schooler I spent lots of time down there when I’d spend time with my sister and they were dating and we would head down there to see him on base when...
Rear shocks are arnott industries Z55 replacements for these rigs. I have the passive versions with resistors built into the harness where the factory wiring plugs in. But the factory air compressor mounted to the rear frame rail still fills up the air bladders like it should. A bolt on the top...
Interesting thing about our lake is that the majority of people who have a boat slip to keep their boats in the water all summer are rented docks via one of the 4 marinas on the lake. Some of the big lake side homes have their own docks as part of the property but compared to how many docks are...
Got the boat up to my house to get her detailed about 1:30 Monday afternoon. About two ish hours behind schedule. I like being able to work from home on occasion now that I have a garage to keep all the gear in when it can’t be in the back of the Denali. It’s a great spot to work out of.
The...
Little view of the mountain highways for you guys. I love highway 38, it’s Ana dbislitet gorgeous drive scenery wise, there’s a couple little areas where it’s tight corners that are windy, but over all it’s got big long, properly banked corners that when unloaded, I cruise through pretty quick...
