    The vortec is a different engine than the LS based motor. I wonder what the oil pressure numbers are like for my LS motor based on the FSM.

    Where did you get those numbers? The 6psi is low by a hair at 1000rpms, 18psi at 2000 rpms is so close it wont matter but 24 psi at 4000rpms is way low. Also the reason you are getting 50psi at cold start up is because that there is no oil on the market thin enough to flow properly when...

    Just to put this out there, ANY engine needs only 10psi per thousand RPMS. As in 10psi @ 1000RPMS, 20PSI @ 2000RPMS, and so on. Having said this, if you are seeing 40-50-60 psi at start up...then you are running too thick of an oil. When you take it up to red line around 6K if you are seeing...
