Literally had the EXACT same vehicle with the EXACT same experience. 1st time I was stranded was the lifters, second time was a fuel injector while towing a boat out of town with the whole family. 3rd time I was stranded it was due to a "Service Charging System Vehicle May Stall" alert. I now...
Three inches of shrinkage is no bueno!
I have a 24 Yukon XL Ultimate Duramax that also seems to settle a bit overnight. I'd love to hear the cause, other than a pool :)
Just picked up my 2024 Yukon XL Denali Ultimate Duramax. It showed up two weeks early. Go figure. I've only got 500 miles on it and it's averaging 24.8 mpg. It's pretty bad ass.
These are a great plug and play option:
Yes, they are pretty much universal.

I have a 2024 Duramax Denali XL Ultimate on order after my 2023 with the 6.2 stranded us twice. I was hoping the LZ0 would make it into the 2024s, build the build sheet definitely indicates LM2. I'll report back when it arrives.
Just had the same thing on my 2023 Denali Ultimate 6.2, 2 months after a lifter collapse. Bad injector on #6 cylinder. The codes are really weird. About to order a 2024 Ultimate XL with LM2 diesel hoping to avoid engine issues, so this is worrisome.
*Update: Dealer has order but hasn't transmitted yet. I'm struggling with pulling the trigger on the LM2, even after the awful experiences with my 2023 6.2. Stockholm Syndrome maybe? Any opinions?
Yep, LM2 confirmed. Just ordered one.
It's definitely the AFM B.S. that provides very little upside and all downside to us, the end users. AFM's only benefit is the good boy points (or girl, Mary Barra) earned by General Motors from hand wringing, ESG obsessed corporate aholes. A simple, solid chunk of metal instead of spring...
I wonder if I could insist on this, this time around. Since it's still covered by the original warranty, it would seem GMC wouldn't want more repeat expenses.
UPDATE: The 2023 GMC Yukon XL "Ultimate" is DEAD AGAIN! Less than 2 months and 2,000 miles after the dealer replaced the lifters under warranty, this giant POS has the exact same problem. This time is especially painful as I'm stranded out of town with the family and a trailer. Effff you GM!!!
