Got it as hot as I could w/ propane torch, still wouldn't budge. Eventually I broke the head of the slider off and now have almost nothing to grab onto with the vice grips.
I think the best advice I've heard is drill a hole in the opposite side and try to tap it out with a punch. Also...

The bolt came out rather easily (w/ a box end wrench and a hammer). But the piece the bolt threads into is supposed to move so the caliper can float. And it doesn't budge. Which is why the inside pad is worn all the way to the indicator and the outside pad is fine.
On the rear caliper, the top slider is free (moves easily by hand) but the bottom slider is seized. I've removed the rubber boot, lubricated with generous amounts of WD-40 and PB blaster, and tapped on it w/ a screwdriver & hammer...no success. Any tricks?
