    2024 Tahoe EV RST look.

I agree with you. Ideally I would love to have a naturally aspirated V8 with a manual transmission. It’s the most fun to drive and the most reliable. If I can’t have that though, I would opt for a 50 mile range battery paired to a reliable engine for generating electricity only, eliminating...

    Transmission?

I think I used the same one you linked, or very similar (looks the same). It doesn’t connect before the thermostat, that’s why you have to bypass it with something like the sure cool. It connects via the cooler lines. The kit is made for you to cut the “out” line to the cooler and splice it...

    Transmission?

I installed this very unit on mine. Important to note that unless you bypass the thermostat (I did) it will only filter when hot. I did this while replacing the pan / internal filter. My hope is that as long as I keep my 10 micron spin on filter changed, I shouldn’t really need to drop that...

    Burnt Trans Fluid

I used the superior solutions bypass kit, I have a wondered if there is a concern with it not warming in the winter, but my winters are short, so it’s probably fine.

    Burnt Trans Fluid

My first steps would be to replace the pan with one that has a drain plug, drain and fill again, and replace the transmission thermostat with the one that opens at 165, or just bypass it. If the TC is bad usually it has a shudder to it and the RPMs will float a bit.

HP Tuners Modifications for GM Trucks.

Yeah, that’s what I thought too, but the shift pattern value never changes based on cruise. It also behaves like you would expect for upshifts and TCC applies, but seems to ignore downshift and TCC release guidelines. I will keep digging around and see what I find.

HP Tuners Modifications for GM Trucks.

After a good long drive I think I still have some work to do. It releases a bit to easily, so need to revisit my tables. Also it seems to do what ever the hell it wants in cruise control, which is a bummer. Will update if i get a chance to tweak things. I do really like the idea over all...

10L80 Transmission, best way to lower exhaust for PPE pan install?

I had to do this in combination with the ratchet strap to replace my stock pan. I can confirm that the strap itself wasn’t enough and that this did help me. I didn’t use a PPE, just installed something with a drain plug, but was still more difficult than it seemed for some. I’m not sure if...

Mystery Coolant Leak or Spill? - SOLVED

Solved!! I figured it out. So no more leaks and coolant level remains stable. Well I had ordered a new reservoir just incase which I received today. I looked it over and noticed a strange hole in the bottom. Turns out there is a vent built into the top of the lid. The cap is a 2 stage cap...

Mystery Coolant Leak or Spill? - SOLVED

I don't think there was any pressure, it definitely wasn't hot, and I don't remember a hiss at all. I checked it again today after my wife drove it, and while the tank had dropped slightly, no leaking on the garage floor at all. I think the slight drop in the tank level is fairly expected...

HP Tuners Modifications for GM Trucks.

I finally got around to trying this out last week. I made the changes in Tow Haul first to see how I like it. Right now it will only lock in 5th and 6th, and only under 20% throttle. It will stay latched in until 37%. I wanted some room between the lock and the release to prevent it from...

Mystery Coolant Leak or Spill? - SOLVED

2017 Tahoe LT 5.3 2WD - 92,000 miles, single owner, garage kept. Ok, I am a bit perplexed and just want to see if I am missing something here. Today I changed the oil and did a coolant drain / refill on our Tahoe. While I was refilling it, I noticed a large puddle of coolant under the vehicle...

    Tire pressure observations

I have always run mine between 40-42, depending on the season. If I have expect to make a long trip in rain / snow / sleet, I will drop them back to 35. The only thing negative I could mention is that my tires appear to be cupped on the inside, but that might be due to blown struts I had for a...

At a loss with electrical/mech problems - 2015 Tahoe LTZ

If you still have problems, I might consider the alternator. I had an old Mazda that acted all kinds of crazy before the alternator gave up the fight. You mentioning that the new battery fixed it for a month before acting up again is very reminiscent of my troubles with that car. Good luck.
