thanks, suggestions of an electrical problem seemed right on. The loose wire probably killed the starter.
SOLVED. Maybe. I took the starter out and noticed the electrical lead’s screw was loose. See video in a few minutes (Have to attach via youtube)Black around nut indicating arcing. Why did I...
After searching Youtube, i found a link that showed what mine is doing somewhat. The guy replaced his starter. After I banged the starter, nothing happened. Why would I spend $1000 for a tow and starter, unless I am sure the starter is bad?
Update: I charged the battery anyway. The battery check on my code reader is at 12.4 volts. When I push the start button, I hear a click in the engine and all lights on dash go black and the voltage drops to 12.0. 5 or 6 seconds later, I hear a click and the dash lights come on And the battery...
thanks all. SOLVED. Maybe. I took the starter out and noticed the electrical lead’s screw was loose. See my video - Black around nut indicating arcing. Why did I say mabe? I will install a new starter soon.
I am having issues with my 2015 Yukon Denali Not cranking - battery acting dead, no...
As suggested, I cleaned the battery connections, despite them looking OK and the steering wheel toggles and dashboard display works now, but the OBDII scanner still doesn’t read. I don’t know where the ecm ground is, but I will look it up. Is it hard to get to? Also, I will unscrew and clean up...
Thank you. I have not checked grounds but I will, and it makes sense. The cigarette (port?) lighter is working. and I checked all the fuses, in and out. And besides a few cockroaches, I didn’t see any obvious wire damage under the dash Or under the hood. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t any...
My 2006 Yukon Denali sat for 3 years. Everything worked back then except for an intermittent gas guage. The Car runs. The Code scanner will not connect to the computer (I had a earlier post on just the scanner, but now realize there’s a larger problem than just not being able to read the code...
Hi, thanks for your efforts. The Yukon runs great now, replaced plug wires and found a funky one. But I checked grounds, tried another reader and as a reminder, my reader did a successful battery check. I checked all the fuses and now there may be nothing left but to fear the worst. The only...
I am starting this thread because you have to go through a lot of posts to get where I am.
The problems (many models have it):
1) My 2015 Yukon Denali’s engine temperature gauge intermittently reads zero and the cooling fans come on where the computer assumes the sensor has failed so the car...
I had the same problem. For future searchers, do not assume bright lights and dash mean the battery will start the car. When there isn't enough power to start, the display goes dark. For me, using a charger didn't work. I jumped the car and let it charge itself.
My battery was knocked down...
Thanks all. The problem was that I thought the car would act like everyone I ever owned, in that when the battery is low the accessories and lights show that. Also getting the battery fully charged with my charger didn't work. Anyway, I took the battery out again and brought it to another...
