Those Who Moved From an '07-14 to '15+ generation... How Was It?

I got a 2017 Suburban Premier and I don't have any highway shaking. I'm pretty sure it's in the factory torque converter. I upgraded mine with a Circle D one and it's been great. Winter I run Bridgestone Blizzaks and summer I run Nittos (which I'd argue are more perfectly round than Michelins)...

    Regear Cost?

Hey yall, I'm wanting to regear the 3.42s in my 2017 Suburban Premier 4x4 w/ Tow Package to 3.73s. Currently has 113k on it. I don't tow often, but when I do it's at capacity through the mountains. I live in the rockies and go off roading a lot. Plus, I now run 10 ply 33s in the summer. How...

2023 Yukon Denali diesel vs 2023 Ram 1500 diesel

Listen. I daily drive 2022 Suburbans at my job, do valet, I own a 2017 Suburban Premier, and my dad has an '06 Sierra 1500. The 2021+ SUVs are by far way bigger on the inside. Taller and definitely a lot longer, so way more 2nd and 3rd row leg room. Guests feel a lot further away when sitting...

2023 Yukon Denali diesel vs 2023 Ram 1500 diesel

I gotta admit, I've kind of noticed the same thing. I've put 34k on my Suburban since I bought it 11 months ago, and I'm starting to notice the seat does feel a little too narrow. I'm not a big guy, only 5'11/200lbs, but it's not as comfortable long distance as other seats are.

2023 Yukon Denali diesel vs 2023 Ram 1500 diesel

Honestly both. It's hard to explain, but I feel like the 2015-20 interiors were top of its class and were visually appealing. The new interiors don't feel as soft and has a "colder" appearance if that makes sense.

2023 Yukon Denali diesel vs 2023 Ram 1500 diesel

I'm with you on the interior. I think the 2021+ interiors are a HUGE step down from the 15-20 GM SUVs, Grand Wagoneer, or Ram interiors. I'm hoping they do a mid-model refresh like the Silverados/Sierras. The refreshed Denali interior is really nice. I want a Yukon XL with the 3.0L Duramax/10...

My Experience Towing with a '17 Suburban 5.3L

Factory 20" chrome plated wheels and 275/60R20 E. Looks so much better than the 55r20s that come factory. If I end up keeping it long term, I want to regear to 3.73.

My Experience Towing with a '17 Suburban 5.3L

Load range 123, or 3145 lbs per tire from Nitto. If you do the math, 51 to 52 psi is what would equal out the load rating from factory. Thank god the tire light doesn't come on to tell me it's "too high". I've put about 4000 miles on them and the wear is very consistent.

2016 Yukon/L680 Transmission upgrades for HD TOW 2016 Yukon XL

I'm HOPING to do all the work myself! There's a YouTube channel called Sundae Drive that has a LOT of informative videos about the DOD Delete on these specific engines. You have to remove the engine to do it all properly, and since it's out, might as well replace the converter since it's right...

My Experience Towing with a '17 Suburban 5.3L

@RobH My front end is in the air because I have a leveling kit and aftermarket struts that put the front end up higher than I expected, so when there's any weight, it squats a little bit. I tried fitting each axle on each plate, but I couldn't seem to do that. I don't know if it was me or...

2016 Yukon/L680 Transmission upgrades for HD TOW 2016 Yukon XL

I have a 2017 Suburban Premier, also with the Max Tow Package. I pulled a 2500 lb empty trailer 18 hours from East Texas to Casper, WY and then had it loaded to a gross combined weight of 13,860 pounds another 7 hours south. After that trip, there's a few things I've been looking into: -Circle...

Factory brake controller is proportional, so it applies as much pressure as you do, with the gain being how strong the maximum pressure is. I don't think there's an option to set the trailer brakes first.

Have any of yall ever had VVT parts go out?

I'm looking at doing a DOD Delete in the fall with a BTR Stage 1 VVT Camshaft and all the other necessary parts. I have 91k on the engine right now and I want to replace it before it goes out. I'm keeping VVT because I like the benefit of it. While I'm in there replacing the cam, lifters...

My Experience Towing with a '17 Suburban 5.3L

I agree. I put new front assemblies when I installed the 2.5/1.5 leveling kit and I think the front sits higher now. I'm thinking to put 2" rear blocks, maybe 2.5", and then build custom brackets for the ride height sensors.

    Towing Transmission Question

If it makes you feel better, I towed my 1982 K10 on my 20' trailer, and it pulled the same as it did without the truck. I think when you put any trailer behind us, it'll feel like it's bogged down, but it'll feel almost the same whether it's 1500 pounds or 7000 pounds.
