Oil Pressure - Am I paranoid?

Cold idle was nearly 55psi today. Historically I change my oil every 5k on all my cars and run a blackstone every 20-25k or so.

Oil Pressure - Am I paranoid?

Hopefully jasper will at least cover the labor difference for this one. Would be a bummer to pay for labor again and be without the car another 2 weeks. Based on Jasper’s website, new oil pan comes with the long block. I know the oil pressure sensor is reused, but I replaced that with a GM...

Oil Pressure - Am I paranoid?

3years/100k warranty coverage begins when the original replacement is installed. Apparently, that does not reset when their engine does not survive past that point. So beginning Nov 2026, I will be on the hook.

Oil Pressure - Am I paranoid?

Not what I want to hear, but I do appreciate the insight. Rather get this taken care of while still under their warranty cause, in 90 or so days, I’ll be SOL.

Oil Pressure - Am I paranoid?

I’m in VA, but I’m sure I can test it before it’s due for its 500 mile change.

Oil Pressure - Am I paranoid?

I had that suspicion with the previous engine, however a brand new reman engine should also likely have a brand new pick up o-ring.

Oil Pressure - Am I paranoid?

A little background- bought my Yukon XL with 145k miles, 1 year old jasper engine installed at 130k. Changed oil maximum every 5k with 5w-30 and OEM filter. Replaced the oil pressure sensor at some point during my ownership and always kept an eye on it. 18 months later, family took an ~800 mile...

Water Leak from Passenger Side Engine Bay?

Good news - car received a coolant flush, thermostat, water pump and new hoses courtesy of a warrantied non-AFM engine from Jasper shortly after our return due to a rocker arm failure. I will keep a close eye on the internal condensation to see if any of this plays a factor in it improving

Water Leak from Passenger Side Engine Bay?

I had well water test strips, coolant came back at a 6. A little suprised since it was replaced with a Jasper engine about 2.5 years ago. Hoses seem very pliable, so I assume they were replaced prior to my ownership. Cool water from the AC drain portion has been confirmed, however the water...

Water Leak from Passenger Side Engine Bay?

I will have to take a look! Current coolant level is about half inch below the full cold line. Intend on doing a coolant flush this upcoming weekend!

Water Leak from Passenger Side Engine Bay?

Yes, with AC running the front drain tube has water pouring out practically Water coming out is not hot, engine bay and all surrounding components were.

Water Leak from Passenger Side Engine Bay?

I cleaned both front and rear to be sure, not certain if the amount that’s coming out is excessive. But it is definitely cold water, not coolant

Water Leak from Passenger Side Engine Bay?

I was going off of an OBD scanner, is that not accurate either? Typically 210 +/- 5*. Will double check coolant when the car cools down after the nearly 8 hour trip. Probably due for a coolant flush either way. However, found this beneath the glove compartment, behind the trim. Can’t imagine...

Water Leak from Passenger Side Engine Bay?

Hi! On a 400 mile road trip, wife mentioned passenger side floorboard is very hot. Other than exhaust routing that way couldn’t find anything. However, I did notice significant water dripping that looks like it’s coming from this metal canister in the engine bay with piping that routes into the...
