I had an engine replaced on a 2023 Denali. Rod bearings blew at 3600 miles. Owned the car for 1 Month. Engine replacement went well, car was running great, but I still worked with GM and they ended up replacing the car for us. Whole process end to end took about 5 months from when the first...
Hey Raj welcome to the fun / forum.
I’ve had **two** 2023 Yukon Denali’s now, yes read that correctly. Our first was with the 6.2 L and the motor was blown after less than 4000 miles. Our second replacement 6.2 L Yukon also 2023 Denali has just over 4000 miles right now and everything is going...
I had my car for exactly 1 month before my engine failed. 3600 miles. Exactly 4 weeks for them to get a new motor and install it.
Yukon Denali vers 2.0 has 2800 miles on it now. Let’s see if I can make it to 3.6k lol
just jumped 102 pages on this thread to see what new Yukon folks are up to.
1 month in, my motor blew with 3600 miles on it. 2023 6.2 L. Two rod bearings blew . Replaced my motor and started the process with GM on what was next.
Ended up getting a full replacement Yukon. Brand new vehicle...
Been a bit since I’ve checked this thread. Update as of early May (car died 4 months ago) - we’ve opted to go the replacement route. Motor was dead 1 month to the day from when we took delivery (Jan 9 to Feb 9, 2023).
Put my order in for the replacement around mid April and they’ve accepted...
I hear you. That’s extremely frustrating and I would have the same safety concerns being a family of four over here with two young children.
To be honest, I did nothing to help expedite this scenario with General Motors. While I don’t think my motor replacement situation was entirely unique, I...
Anyone on this forum have any experience with the GMC vehicle replacement process?
It looks like once I place the order for my next vehicle (‘23 Denali ultimate w 6.2L and cat back exhaust.. had to .. ) , they’ll (GMC) put an offer together for how this will pan out in terms of $, at which...
I have to imagine there is some sort of priority labeling with where GM is sending new motors these days. My 2023 Yukon Denali blew two rod bearings at 3600 miles - exactly a month to the day from when we picked it up from the dealer. I figured months for a new motor but they had mine shipped...
A little context for you: your car dies and you coast to the side of the road. There’s two children under 2 years old sleeping in the back seat, it’s 3pm and it’s 80 degrees outside. Let me know if there’s something else I should have done besides try and start my car again..? Pls try and add an...
Pretty damn close … I wonder what GM’s thoughts are on these motors spinning rod bearings between 3-4K miles. There’s gotta be a short list of these somewhere in their system.
Sucks for us. Hope they get you back in order soon.
I’m curious of your exact mileage - My rod bearings blew at 3,677 miles. (Cylinders 5 & 6) . Can’t just be a strange coincidence here.
I did the miles / KM conversion and you’re at around 3,106?
FYI, my starter motor was toast and also blew a 400A fuse from the handful of times I tried to get...
Hey please see my post - I went through this exact scenario. I’m about a week in on my new motor now. Dealer had my car for a month waiting on a new 6.2L. Tried to share relevant details in my posts but feel free to reach out if I can help...
I still feel like the “Yelp” rule applies here - people aren’t always hopping on these forums to post what amazing experiences they’re having driving their Yukons. You come here because you’re researching or have a problem to diagnose. Even with my experience (dead engine) I haven’t written off...
Update . I’ve driven the car for 3 days with very uneasy idling. Noticed some stuttering as well when on the gas pedal. Most recently the check engine light started flashing( 1 hour ago) so back to the dealership we go. Picking up the loaner .. again.
quick google for flashing check engine...
