Help with Correct/Recommended Fluid for Rear Differential Fluid (2023)

Thank you both very much for the information and advice, it doesn't please me that I cannot do the job completely but I want to do what I can now, at least whatever crawling under my car in an apartment parking lot can accomplish. I found that Lucas offers an 80W-90 gear oil, but doesn't seem to...

Help with Correct/Recommended Fluid for Rear Differential Fluid (2023)

Good afternoon All, I'm hoping to do a "Quick and Dirty" gear oil change on my rear differential, which will involve using a pump run through the fill hole down into the differential to siphon out the old oil and then reverse the process with fresh oil. I'm well aware this is only doing half...

'99 Yukon Rough Idle and Unknown Noise

Thank you all for the advice and information so far. I wanted to make an update on the issue which I haven't been able to fix yet due to mostly college mayhem and a more pressing head gasket leak onto the block. I have also been gathering more information to try and narrow down the issue(s)...

Instrument Cluster Missing some Bulbs - Issue?

So I removed the instrument cluster from my '99 Yukon during some cleaning and just checking to see what's what, and I noticed that some of the bulbs were missing. I've included pics of both the left and right sides where you can clearly see where the missing ones are. This is my first time...

Unknown Window Streaking - How to Fix?

I've had this streaking on my driver's window since I've been driving the car. It's not been a hazard, more like an annoyance as it doesn't obstruct my view that much. However I would like to see about getting rid of it and having a normal-looking window with no concerns of it becoming any more...

'99 Yukon Rough Idle and Unknown Noise

Haven't adjusted the valves or replaced the spider yet, or for that matter anything that requires removing valve covers or the intake manifold. I haven't noticed any vacuum leaks but I've not actively looked, where are they typically on the 5.7?

'99 Yukon Rough Idle and Unknown Noise

Good evening everyone! I'm having issues trying to diagnose a rough idle and unknown engine noise I've been experiencing. Over the past six months, I've replaced the spark plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor with correct AC Delco parts but the issues are still persisting. I've made an unlisted...

CV Boot Ripped - What Now?

Quick question, are there different axle shaft lengths that I should check before ordering? I checked the axle that's currently on my vehicle and from each metal band securing the interior side of each boot to the other the metal shaft is about 4 inches as best as I could measure. Just...

    Dashboard and Component lighting failure

I'm not sure, I don't have any accessories or such installed, and the bulbs are stock halogens that I haven't ever messed with. The fuse may have just been old.

    Dashboard and Component lighting failure

I checked the fuses and #9 was fine, but #14 was blown, which according to the chart is for illumination. How I missed that the first time I'm not sure, but I replaced it and all the dash and control backlighting is working now. I think the headlight switch might also be causing problems, so...

CV Boot Ripped - What Now?

I checked them out, currently out of stock of the one I need unfortunately. Besides Rock Auto, any other places with reliable remanned or new axles?

CV Boot Ripped - What Now?

Thank you very much! I'll be ordering one in short time.

CV Boot Ripped - What Now?

It does, and after reading through the comments and doing some research I'll just pay to replace the CV axle. Since I'm away from home and the necessary tools the cost of labor to just replace the boot instead of the entire thing definitely isn't cost-effective.
