How can you afford the cost of a new SUV?

My experience is that owning a Denali XL is pretty reasonable all things considered (new big 4wd rig/warranty coverage etc). Crucially I was fortunate enough to pay cash. Ignores opportunity cost too. My wife is on her 7th rig this century and the last couple of cars cost to me works out like...

    Strike??? Thoughts, insights, predictions.

Yeah, Assembly line labor costs run about 8-10% of final finished cost. Record salaries to everyone else in Big3, 3+years of record profits kinda make that pearlclutching doom/gloom argument seem weak for THIS time/place.

    Strike??? Thoughts, insights, predictions.

Interesting. No strike expansion and this bit in Post. "Fain said GM “has now agreed in writing to place their electric battery manufacturing under our national master agreement,” a step he called a major win. Fain said GM’s decision was prompted by the union’s threat to expand the strike to an...

    Emergency Active Braking in reverse

Just bought one last Friday and it had a 2023 Essential Operating and Safety Manual in it. Plus a 10? page pamphlet called Getting to Know Your Yukon. They call these Guides. Manuals must have lots more info and is downloadable from GMC.com.

Those with 2023 orders and updates.

Took delivery of my wifes 2023 volcanic red Denali XL today from a smaller dealer in here in Mt. Timeline Memorial Day - put deposit down/awaiting allocation. Told maybe by Xmas. Early August - Dealer got allocation and ordered. TPW - Week of 8/28 Delivery to Us -9/22 That is a lot of distance...

    Strike Implications/Risks

As someone trying to get a XL up and through the system these days I got to think the strike risk is a real possibility. September 14th current contract ends and the union recently threw the Stellantis counter ceremonially in the trash. I think the union is not committing to striking one...

    No Refresh for 2024

    No Refresh for 2024

Since there is no refresh this year do they even have/shorten the seasonal shutdown/retool? Wonder if the decision is related to the possible strike and wanting to move as much metal as possible as a hedge. Do they produce 23 MY until late October? Or can they just state this car forward (say...

    No Refresh for 2024

My dealer said they got a 24 allocation this week, they filed the order form and my Yukon should be here mid November (assumes no strike!) Maybe GM does not formally accept them until then?

    Turbo diesel for the Denali!

Do you figure the walk out price will be higher for a Diesel once the initial wave of MSRP (or close) buyers fade bc of demand? Are there limits/logistics to increasing diesel production if the longer term demand warrants? For example if GMC starts out at 20% diesel mix can they boost it to 40%...

    Future 2020/21 Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban

Did the 20/21 models enter production before GM shut everything down? Seems like pretty good delays ahead. Sigh.

    Future 2020/21 Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban

I dunno YMMV. For example I bought a 15 Denali XL in Sept 14 for 70k and traded it in for a new one and got 40k trade in credit in Sept 18. Depreciation/cost - 30k or 7500/yr or $625/m. Pretty good for a new worry free Denali in my book. Obviously financial situation plays a big part in this...

How many of you DO NOT experience buffetting and vibration problem?

2015 Denali XL - owned 4 years no problems. 65k 2019 Denali XL - owned 1 year no problems. 15k 2022 Denali XL - betting no problems!

    Bug Deflector / WeatherTech Mats

As far as cargo mats I'd go w the GMC product. We first tried Weathertech but the fit/flimsiness dn work so we swapped in the black GMC mat and it was way better. YMMV.

Is anyone happy with their 2015?

As I have said in other threads I bought an early year 15 Denali XL and had no issues with it until I traded it in for a 19 Denali XL in September. 65k miles. Best Denali we ever owned (5th one starting in 01).
