What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Alright, I got a micrometer to check installed spring height. The mic didn't fit over the integrated seat/seals, so I measured those separately and factored that into the height. These PAC dual springs call for 1.810 installed height, and I was getting between 1.854 and 1.914, so it makes sense...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Having issues with valvetrain geometry but I'm on the right path... learning a ton here. Especially at how to throw money at specialty tools. The main obvious symptom is that the edge of my spring retainers are contacting my rockers. The rockers aren't the issue and the rocker stands aren't...

Installed the Texas Speed double springs, seals, and titanium retainers. Finally a job that took LESS time than I estimated lol

Yeah the US General boxes seem very well made for a great price. I got 20% off of this too

This was right after removing the wrap yesterday and it looked much better than I thought it would. If it wasn’t bleeding it would’ve been gnarly. Everyone can thank Doubeleive for this!

Glad I didn’t make the workbench any shorter! I removed the casters but left the bolts which protrude just enough so it’s sitting in the bolts and not the box. Also superglued some of those little felt pads to the bolt heads. This 5-75 is such a good range and the size and 3/8 drive is nice. I...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I got 4 of the pistons installed and then SMASHED my finger between the engine stand handle and one of the braces… it’s kind of a sketchy design. Broke the nail straight across way far back on my pointer finger so pretty much gonna lose the nail entirely. Almost passed out so I’m gonna call it...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Piston rings are gapped. Aimed for .028 top ring and .030 2nd ring, but I overshot a few of them a tiny bit lol a little loose is fine. Checked the rod bearing clearances. Had to run extra clearance half shells on 2 of them, but now they’re all .0028 with one being .0027 and one is .0029 so I...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I got the HX bearings installed. Plastigage looked good but I decided to get a micrometer and dial bore gauge since it's more than a basic rebuild. This is what I'm seeing and I think it looks pretty perfect. 1. .0030 2. .0029 3. .0029 4. .0031 5. .0031 Cleaned everything very well and got the...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Painted the block and started reassembly. The main clearances are tighter than I’d like so I ordered some oversized bearings. 1,2,4,5 are showing about .0018 and 3 is around .0012 according to the plastigage.

Are Hellwig sway bars still the top dog? 7685 and 7707. I don't think I'd need the 7799 spacers but idk. I don't think it's even close to touching my 4L80E lines. I was set on Hotchkis but I don't see them available anywhere anymore. Did some research yesterday and found a few posts about Hellwig
