My turn for the rear defroster broken contact
I'm not sure what you are using to try and repair your defroster tabs. This is what I used http://www.frostfighter.com/defroster-repair-tab-bonding-kit-2000.htm and it has worked for me. The trick to this repair is the heat gun.- Laterfoolz
