Probably had something to do with your brake vaccum pump. Mine did a lot of strange things before we figured out our pump was failing- labmom

If your hoses are connected, use a needle or toothpick and see if there is dirt clogging up where it's supposed to spray out -

On my 2015 , the hose under hood somehow got disconnected, so start there. Get someone to press the button while looking for any leaks
