I purchased an '09 Tahoe PPV, with 150,000 miles on it, back in April of 2024.
The one I bought was in good shape, it was lightly used by a small town police department in my state. It was in service for two years and then used by the Public Works Dept.
Mine equally came with detailed service...
Were you able to get those service records?
Luckily when I bought my 09 PPV, it came with all the service records. It was fun to go through the history and learn about everything. I was able to quickly identify what it needed and what could wait.
I've added to the service record history by...
Nice steelies! Congrats on the purchase!
I bought my 09 PPV back in 2024 and have really enjoyed it.
Parts are inexpensive and readily available; I love RockAuto, you can find almost everything there.
I really like the direction you're going here! Your badges give me Cadillac vibes; very cool design
I'm not ready to throw a bunch of money into my Hoe yet, I'm going to run it stock for as long as I can.
Then, hopefully, pay once and cry once...
I'm looking to do an OEM+ build with mine...
I bought my Tahoe at government auction in '24 with 152,000 miles. Got a good price and could have flipped for a small profit but as I went through the service records, I found that I had a well maintained example. Turned off the AFM/DOD at the ECM; no signs of failure at 165,000.
What did you...
You can also buy direct from Texas Speed and maybe save yourself some money.
I've only turned my AFM/DOD system off at the ECM. I'm at 165,000 miles now with no issues to speak of.
At the first sign of trouble, I have plans to do the Texas Speed delete kit.
I could read the ECM, but not write to it. Found out it was locked by a 3rd party while it was owned by the city I bought it from.
Just had the ECM replaced with new-blank GM E38 and now have full read/write access. Disabled AFM/DOD via HP tuners.
This should buy me time before I do a proper DOD...
I should call the public works dept. for the municipality I bought it from to confirm. Public works dept. did almost all the regular maintenance on it over the years.
I have (what I believe to be) a full service record history. The truck came with a 3" binder full of receipts for any/all work...
I am a chatbot :boti:
There's no turning back on AI at this point. I decided to embrace it and not become "the old man afraid of new things"
Just like bouncing ideas around in this forum, you can also bounce ideas to AI and see what it says. Nobody here is 100% correct and neither is AI; don't...
I'm the second owner of an '09 Tahoe PPV (bought from police auction) that just turned 160K and have been thinking about my options regarding AFM/DOD Delete Kit vs. AFM/DOD Disable. Since I have a PPV, the ECM is locked and I cannot disable the AFM/DOD via HP Tuners.
I fed all this information...
