    Transfer case delete 4wd 05 tahoe

    Drive shaft slip yoke wear (and transfer case output shaft ) can damage the transfer case seal prematurely. Since I had replaced the transfer case about a year earlier I replaced the driveshaft (with slip yoke) and so far the transfer case seal leaks have stopped.

    There are lots of rubber mounts underneath, including body mounts, steering system joints, loose sheetmetal bolts underneath, brakes/bearings. I finally got my 2003 Tahoe quiet after all of the above and more. I wish there were a tool to spacially locate the source of noises.

    My 2003 Tahoe didn't even burn any oil until 290,000 miles when it suddely started guzzling oil. I had it replaced with a GM remanufactured one and 340,000 miles now. So cylinder wear may not be your problem.

    Wheels plowing/dragging at low speed

    You could get a second opinion on the alignment from difference source. Also, it sounds like it's in 4 wheel drive and the wheels will lock up in turns unless they can easily slip, like in mud or loose sand. 4WD not for use on dry pavement.

    I agree with the checking the fuel trims recommendation. Lots of things can cause rough idling and live data fuel trims on the scanner can narrow it down. Too much fuel, not enough fuel, fuel system fine.
