Ball joint stock lower control arm.

FYI, Installed Moog complete upper control arms recently on our 04. Grease boots blew out on both ball joints. Lower balljoints, one plugged and will not take grease. I will Avoid Moog.

    Exhaust Manifold Gaskets/Lifter Tick

I used aftermarket gaskets and RTV ( O2 sensor safe) with only one issue. I did not wait long enough for the RTV to cure on bank one and silicone poisoned the upstream O2 sensor. Not a big deal just another expense and trip under the truck.

2000 GMC Yukon 4x4 Engine & Transmission Replacement

Back in August, we replaced our 2004 engine with a reman for around $4000 (including new replacement wear items such as hoses, belts, plugs, motor mounts, some sensors) but I did the labor. So far its running fine with about 2000 miles on it. I had quotes from local shops from $6500 to $9000...

    OEM parts on Amazon?

Ebay reference here. I bought "genuine" AC delco knock sensors to replace new, defective Dormans installed at rebuild, they solved that problem. Bought AC Delco O2 sensor as backup to replace temporary cheap ebay sensor (which works fine), the AC delco sensor fails immediately. Two days past...

Slow speed squeal after transfer case rebuild

Ours had a new oscillating squeak after the new engine (which included a new TC output seal for good measure). I was thinking u-joint but it has since gone away so we'll wait and see..

    RTV (silicone) posioned O2 sensor

I replaced the MAF with a Delphi as it appeared damaged on one of the filament, LT Fuel trim came back in line but the same codes are still showing latent with new low and high idle code. Knock sensor is setting CEL. The replacement sensors are Dorman with new harness and Ohm 93 each. Truck...

    RTV (silicone) posioned O2 sensor

We took the tahoe out for a 25 mile trip, It seems to run fine although several new latent codes. P0171 was cleared and did not reappear after the drive. New codes P0327 Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Low Input (Bank 1 or Single Sensor) P0420 & P0430 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank...

    RTV (silicone) posioned O2 sensor

I cannot tell which, the only pair with a measurement from the Ohm setting.

    RTV (silicone) posioned O2 sensor

Replaced both upstream sensors with unbranded ebay units. I figured if they were to contaminate again I'd rather be out just a few bucks. I already have AC delco sensors ready to go in if, when, needed. Anyways, the sensor must have been the problem with the short as the new ones do not blow...

    RTV (silicone) posioned O2 sensor

The fuse IS blown on the OB2A circuit. The connector for the sensor is above the transmission so I will need to look over the wiring for a pinch in that area along with the sensor separately. If the silicone has cured out, I guess the exercise of cleaning it from the exhaust connections is not...

    RTV (silicone) posioned O2 sensor

So finished up the final details on the 04 Tahoe engine replacement last Weekend. One of the details that day was connecting the exhaust tubing to the manifold in which I used "Sensor Safe" RTV at the joints, fired it up a couple hours later. It has a CEL for o2 sensor Bank2 sensor 1 which...
