This is a big inconvenience and also unacceptable, GM customer service has been no help just a bunch friendly patronizing with very little info. When this first started I said I wasn't in a big hurry, I just want the issue fixed right the first time. From what I can tell GM has done very little...
Been without the truck for two and a half months. Just got the call that it now needs another motor. The service manager is going to call me after he talks to the area Rep for Gm to find a resolution for the situation. There are six vehicles there now waiting on motors.
New update, they replaced the starter and fuse box. Picked it up late Friday 5/10, over the weekend it lost throttle for a split second or 2 several times, stalled a few times and than the engine light came on(BTW, I put 110 miles on it). Took it back Mon. 5/13 they checked it out and said it...
Update: Parts arrived, they replaced the motor and were trying to put some miles on it and check everything over and the starter started acting up. Ordered a starter and now it is on backorder. :banghead:
Here is an update for those that are interested, my buddy called me and said that his buddy that is working on my truck told him that he started on it Friday 4/19 and that he has all the parts needed and will most likely have it done by 4/26. Gm customer service calls me this morning and tells...
A little update for the 6.2's, Gm has changed the part number, lowered the price ($2644.44) and raised the core charge to $7000.00. The lower price I'm guessing helps warranty numbers, raising the core charge means they want the motors back. I haven't figured out the part number change yet...
Talked to a friend that is a tech at a local dealership, sounds like this problem is getting worse. The parts that are needed to do the engine replacement are going on back order, motor, radiator, gaskets, o-rings.
I thought I heard something like a spark knock or rattle and oil life was at 11% so I went ahead and changed the oil and ran it thru a paint strainer (full of very fine metal). Than about 10 miles later it rattled away and locked up.
Yes I did contact GM customer service and they basically said they will not authorize a rental until its diagnosed to see if it is a warranty issue. I have a friend that is a tech at another local dealer and according to him they have 6 vehicles waiting on 6.2 engines. He also told me he put a...
Just found this forum and I am now a member of the locked up 6.2. I have a 22 GMC AT4X with 13,649 miles. Dealer told me it may take a month to do a diagnoses on it and GM said no rental until the dealer does the diag.
