Lol, so while digging into a different problem today, I decide to scan for Enhanced DTCs on my code reader and I come across a recurring P0573. Which is strange, because we've had zero issues with the brake lights, cruise control, etc.
The switch (the usual culprit) is cheap and it's like a 5...
Wires are fine, air intake is fine, etc. I did discover that the PCV hose insert was slightly loose and pushed it all the way back in; not sure if that actually made a difference or was causing/would have caused enough of a vacuum leak to mess with the idle or relearn.
Regardless, performed...
It shows a Micron rating for those filters, but doesn't indicate whether it's nominal or absolute, and doesn't give an efficiency rating...so we're not actually given a true efficiency.
A quick Google search can further explain what I mean...
Curious as to what the efficiency ratings of those are. For example, I use K&N Gold filters, which according to that have the best Micron rating...but I have no idea what the efficiency is at that size. Micron rating is pretty useless without efficiency rating.
Welp, get to chase down the dreaded/random "Service 4x4" message as of today, on the heels of the throttle body and the air ride stuff.
Gotta love when stuff hits 150k, lol.
6l80 here (2010 Tahoe LTZ). Have heard from a lot of folks (including a few on here) that 30-35k is the severe schedule that we should be sticking to on these transmissions.
For me, that's about once a year, lol. Is it your opinion that it could probably go another 20k each cycle and be fine?
Did the air ride compressor and rear shocks finally weekend before last. Was a breeze; nice to not have a compressor that sounds like it has brain cancer, for one..but for two, it was starting to run a lot more and lo and behold, RR shock was leaking a bit.
Went ahead and took a chance on the...
Did some looking and found some light discussion here about it previously, but I guess I'm just looking for reassurance and/or confirmation that this behavior is normal.
Saturday night I got the P2135 (TPS reading invalid) and an engine throwing a temper tantrum. It was the middle of the night...
So I changed the oil today and a touch over 5.5 qts came out, so a) the guys at the new shop (who claimed it was almost two quarts low) might not be the brightest, and b) the dipstick is definitely "approximate". Lol. Not too worried.
Was definitely darker than I wanted to see after only 2k...
Also not really happy with how dirty the oil is after only 2k miles; not sure how well the oil was maintained under previous ownership but I'm going to give it a couple more cycles to flush crap out of it and if it's still getting dirty prematurely I'll send a sample off for testing.
Shop raised a red flag about my oil levels while doing their "complimentary inspection" yesterday, said that I was close to 2 quarts low.
Changed the oil about 2000 miles ago (first oil change under our ownership) and I know for a fact I put 6 qts in it. However, I admittedly forgot to check...
Fair. After I do the plugs/wires/air filter/shocks etc. I'll pay a bit closer attention. Doesn't seem like I'm too far off; the lower end of the range I gave has usually been in colder weather with a fair amount of idle time and all of the aforementioned parts needing replaced (as well as...
Yea, like I said I've lurked here for the short while I've owned it and this forum has been a blessing...with an answer to pretty much every stupid little question or curiosity I've had without even having to post (until now, lol).
In my experience most major chassis gens from the major...
Yup, those were the first things I checked. I've lurked here for a little bit and have seen some pretty gnarly melted connectors, haha. Fuse is good and so is the connector; no melting or scorching at all (VERY slight bit of discoloration around that one pin, but nothing concerning). The...
