Any update on this? I'm looking to install my pace setters LT I got for a steal (about $150 from a buddy who sold his rig but found the new in box headers). How'd it work out? Did you have to delete the cats?
I actually just ran into this with 04 hoe. First easiet thing I was able to do was pull the hvac 10amp fuse (under the hood just above the rear window wiper 25 Amp fuse) wait 5 mins, put it back in, turn the truck on for 3-5 mins, turn off for 30 seconds, turn back on and it reset the passenger...
Im Interested in how this goes for you. I've been wanting to do some similar work but for both the front end and rear end. I've got an 04 5.3 LT all stock with 215k miles and I've notice little things here and there while alone dont seem like much but together makes me want to replace/upgrade...
Hmm well damn. I'll talk with my shop and see what they can do about repositioning the cats with the LTs. If/when I can get it done I'll update with photos and statuses. Wish me luck. Worst case, I'll keep the tubes and the truck as a future project toy when I might get a newer more fuel...
If I were to have room how far down would be too far? is it just a guessing game if it's not the stock location? If i were to go catless how bad would it be if i didn't get it tuned right away and how horrible will the gas smell? i know to expect some smell as the cats wont be burning the excess...
