I have Goodyear Eagles, and have no complaints with them. Does anyone here have the knowledge to compare them to the Michelins?

My sister has the Goodyear Steadfast HTs on her Escalade. I started a thread to see if someone could compare them to the Defenders, but no dice. Hopefully someone give you some feedback on your Goodyears.

75 MPH in the rain is why you see cars off the road every time it rains.. I tell my kids, SLOW DOWN IN THE RAIN.
Tell that to people that drive I-75 or I-95 everyday. Drive 55-65 and you'll get run over...... when it's not raining? 85+ is common....
I had the SuperCruise set on 85 yesterday and was still passed by at least 30% of the flowing traffic....23 mpg....

Is it worth to switch from my brand new OEM continental LX20 to Defenders? Will there be significant improvement on comfort/road noise?
I would say no. Continental is a good tire. Edit: Just looked them up, they look to have a really good tread pattern.

Apparently Michelin Defender LTX is a popular tire, while I was crawling around under the vehicle yesterday I looked up at the spare and it's an LTX. I am running General Grabber ATX, though, my go-to tire on all non-car vehicles.

I have had multiple sets of Defenders on a 250k miles 07 Tahoe. On my second set on my 20 Yukon. I have never had any ossues with Michelin tire on any of my vehicles.

Go with Michelin, you won't be disappointed.

How are the Michelin Defenders LTX? Have a 2024 Yukon Denali w/ air ride, not impressed with the alenzas anymore. Had alenzas on my 07 tahoe and the 2017 Denali but the new alenzas aren't that great. How are the defenders for wear, noise, wet traction?
… had four installed on my 2023 Yukon Denali back on October. Absolutely love them over the crappy Alenzas

writing out a reply here about my 2500 Yukon with defenders and realized I have 4 rigs with the same tires on them. I guess I like this tire. I've had many other tires over the years but somehow keep coming back these.
2000 Silverado K1500 Z71 - Defender LTX M/S2 255/75R17 XL
2004 GMC Yukon K1500 AWD - Defender LTX M/S P265/70R17 D
2004 GMC Yukon XL K2500 - Defender LTX M/S LT285/70R17 E
2013 GMC Yukon XL K1500 - Defender LTX M/S2 P265/70R17 XL

These tires are expensive but I see it as cheap insurance when it's the one thing keeping your family safe on the road. All of these tires has performed great and I love how smooth, quiet, and the steering just feels dialed in on these tires. I've had many other types/brands/etc and there are other good tires out there -- for our driving style and expectation (mostly on-road, rain, snow, these just work for us.

The reason you won’t see much comparison review on Michelin vs Goodyear or most other brands is because Michelins are that good and once you run them on a vehicle and get smooth even wear and performance for 60k+ miles you tend to stay with the brand.

I have run Michelin LTX on the past several trucks and even on my wife’s Honda and every set lasted 60k with enough tread to keep a smooth quiet ride and the only reason I changed them out is because I am extremely conservative with tires and brakes.

I had the Defenders on my QX-56, which I just let go after my '26 Denali showed up. The Yuke will get Defenders by the time I have 20k miles on it.

I like Michelin tires. They are the "Cadillac" of tires. I just put a set on my wife's 22 Avalon (NOT for sale). I avoid the low profile type, makes the ride harder.

You guys been putting the newer Defender "2s" on your trucks lately, or the previous model?

I have had two sets but was talked into a less expensive Cooper set between them; No comparison.
Send the money on the Michelin's; they are quiet, comfortable and handle all sorts of weather including snow (we are in the Northeast, recently had 19" snow storm and no issue).

Both. The '2's are still too new to give it a complete evaluation. But, so far, I don't see/feel anything negative for the '2's versus the original.

The ltx ms are no longer available I believe. I’ve got the ltx ms 2’s on a suburban and Tahoe I believe they are better than the ltx ms. Quieter and holds the road well. Was out in the big snow in pa. No traction issues at all.

And they are the 275 50/22. Factory size

Hold up, let's get back to those beautiful rims that Bac Doc showed us. Nice! As far as the tires, I have always liked Michelin. My wife put a hole in the sidewall of our stock tires at around 20k. I told her that I wanted to replace all four tires "so they would match". We now have the Michelin Defenders LTX M/S2 275/50 R22 and they are just fine. No snow to worry about here in Florida, but for me the "feel" on the road is simply better than the stockers. Now I need to start looking at some wheels.

Absolutely. Just one instance of hydroplaning at about 75 miles an hour and tires are about 80% new. Told me all I need to know about Bridgestone's. You are taking your life into your own hands if you are buying Alenza's. I'll get rid of these as soon as I can get about 20,000 miles out of them. Just to say I got a little bit of good out of them. Did the same on my 21 and will on the 25 also.
I agree about the Bridgestones. Steph and I had a rental suburban in Alaska. The roads were wet and I was probably going a little faster than I should've, but never hydroplaned on any gm suv I've ever owned, in the amount of water that was on the road. Came around a little corner, we hydroplaned. Spun as around a few times. I won't 100% blame the tires, but the wet weather traction wasn't good for the remainder of the trip.

Love the defenders
