Yukon XL Captain Seat Locked Down

I'm unable to raise the back of my captain seat, it's locked in the down position. Nor will the seat lift forward. 2010 manual seat with latch on side and back. Any ideas?

Back when I had a second row bench seat, the driver's side portion wouldn't lock when lifting it up from the folded flat position. If I released the seat and tumbled it forward, then slammed it down, it would then allow me to lock it properly in the upright position again. This only happened a few times, but it was kind of annoying. I've since swapped out to second row captains chairs and luckily these work properly.
