2016 Tahoe with H11 Halogen bulbs on the low beams. I know there has been a few thousand posts about it, but I would like to move to a whiter bulb. Her XT4 Caddy looks great a night with LEDS. I may not get the same effect, but I am ready to give it a shot. I am looking for the Brest results, without a lot of modification, adding diodes, sawing covers, etc.

Light me up.....

Thanks

To be honest, for your low beams you'll have the best results with a quality aftermarket HID kit. The factory Tahoe headlights have projectors in them for the low beams that work well with HID bulbs. If it were me that's what I'd do, I wouldn't hesitate to get something in the 50-55W range either (your stock halogen H11 bulbs run at 55W anyway, so it's not like you'd be running any higher wattage than you already are on your stock halogen H11 bulbs), and stay between 4300K-5500K for optimal light output.

Save the LED bulbs for your fog lights and high beams. When going aftermarket; Low Beams should be HID all the way.

I agree with Chad except on the color I would go 6k or 8k if you want that nice white output, anything less is still yellow

I’m definitely interested in some info on that as well. If someone can recommend a set up that would be great.

Phase 1 completed. Low beam LEDs. Drove it last night and it was fine. Below is also a pic of my DDL without low beam. I added a relay to my existing fog light jumper with allows me to turn off Head lights via factory switch, then press the button to “turn on” factory fogs, which causes the jumper circuit to open and leaves the LED strip to shine. Maybe not as bright as a LTZ. But it works if I want it too.

It kinda happened by accident. One pic shows how I configured a jumper from a hot/accessory open port in the center of the fuse box to the feed side of the fog fuse. This makes the fogs live while running, AND allows the auto dim feature to work. It is not able to work with fogs powered on normally.

Yesterday I added a 5 post relay. It receives switched power from the FEED side of the fog fuse slot. I used the relay’s normally closed circuit to allow the fog feed to travel as before. But, when you engage the fog power button, the relay circuit opens, killing fogs. Then you power off headlights, theonly thing you see working is LED strip without low beams. I need to find a smaller5 post relay since it is difficult to get thecover closed with the one I currently have.
