I’m trying to make plans. I still can’t find any decent shops near me that can either rebuild an 8l90 or swap one in.

I’d like to regear when I do this. Idk why I kept reading the 2015 gmc Yukon Denali xl had 3.42 gears. It apparently has 3.23 gearing which would better explain things.

I’d like to go to the 3.73 ish range with gears. And a better lsd or locker. I have e lockers in my other two vehicles and they are awesome when locked but suck when you need a locked rear asap. So maybe a lsd.

That being said, this vehicle has a 9.76 rear axle apparently. And all I can find are gears for a 9.5 axle.

Anyone know who makes gears for the 9.76? And is it worth upgraded shafts or does the 9.76 have sufficiently strong spline count shafts?

I regeared a 2014 axle 9.5 last year to swap into my 99 Silverado, but hasn't happened. I can't recall the spline count now.

These are like hybrid axles, the differential is based on the older 14 bolt 9.5", but axle bearings closer to the 10 bolt. I took photos of the axle shaft diameter. I'll see if I can find them later.

Here is axle shaft diameter. Again, this is a 9.5".
