I have an Edelbrock 3704 intake which is a 1/4 taller then stock, is there any benefit to using a TBI spacer too?

What size it your TB? If its big enough and you're running the stock heads it won't make enough of a difference to deal with the hassles it will come with.

If your running 46mm or larger with spacer on top of the 3704 it should increase your plenum but remember that intake is good to about 5500 or so, It could help your top end (5200+) a hair but not without changing stock rpm limit with springs and cam. Also make sure everything is bored out to match the TB size 48mm or more if you decide to make the complete swap. If not the intake on stock engine is more then enough and still a improvement with room to grow.

That's true for his engine but it depends on the setup and that second or two can make a world of a difference on a run.
